As a mid-level architect, you will play a pivotal role in transforming urban landscapes through slum redevelopment projects in Kolhapur and Ichalkaranji. This role is not just about design; it is about merging data-driven insights with community-centric urban planning. You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of the project, from conceptual strategy and CAD drafting to on-site monitoring and government liaison.

Location: Kolhapur / Ichalkaranji, India

Level: Minimum of two years experience and fluency in Marathi would be added value

Duration: 2-Year Contract Reports to: Project Manager

Key Responsibilities
1. Design & Technical Execution
Conceptualization: Develop strategic design frameworks specifically tailored for slum redevelopment and social housing, taking into consideration climate change aspects.

Detailed Documentation: Create comprehensive building designs and detailed working drawings using CAD applications.

Cost Management: Prepare accurate project costing and bill of quantities (BOQ) based on designs.

Data Integration: Collaborate with in-house data teams to translate research findings and analyzed data into functional design developments.

2. Stakeholder Engagement & Liaison

Community Relations: Lead stakeholder meetings and community engagement activities to ensure design alignment with resident needs.

Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for Urban Local Body (ULB) officials, elected members, financial institutions, and vendors.

Coordination: Maintain regular follow-ups with construction professionals and slum communities to ensure seamless project flow.

3. Project Management & Site Oversight

Site Monitoring: Conduct regular site visits in tandem with the Site Engineer to ensure construction adheres to design specifications.

Budget & Timeline: Rigorously monitor project milestones to ensure delivery within set budgets and strict timelines.

Market Research: Undertake market studies for material selection to balance quality with cost-effectiveness.

4. Reporting & Governance
Documentation: Prepare high-quality presentations and progress reports for internal and external stakeholders and donors.

Compliance: Adhere strictly to data privacy norms and organizational standards regarding sensitive project information.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience: Proven experience in housing projects for at least two years (experience in redevelopment or social impact projects is a strong plus).

Technical: High proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant BIM/3D modeling software.

Soft Skills: Strong negotiation and communication skills to navigate the complexities of ULB and community interactions.

Analytical: Ability to interpret socio-economic data and translate it into spatial solutions. Maintain data privacy as per SA’s norms
