Position
Accountant cum office staff
Position Summary
The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring statutory compliance, supporting financial planning, and preparing financial reports for various organizational programs and donor-supported projects.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
* Maintain books of accounts including Receipts & Payments, Income & Expenditure, and Balance Sheet.
* Prepare vouchers, bills, invoices, and ensure proper documentation of financial transactions with supporting documents.
* Reconcile accounts, monitor expenses, and ensure adherence to approved budgets.
* Maintain project-wise accounting and financial records.
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
* Ensure timely compliance with statutory requirements including GST, TDS, EPF, Income Tax, FCRA, and other applicable regulations.
* Coordinate with Chartered Accountant for statutory audits and compliance matters.
* Support program teams in budget tracking and variance analysis.
* Maintain proper physical and digital filing systems for financial documents.
* Prepare utilization certificates and donor financial statements.
Required Qualifications & Skills
* Bachelor's degree in commerce (B.Com); M.Com preferred.
* Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the development sector.
* Proficiency in Tally and other accounting software.
* Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, EPF, Income Tax, and FCRA compliances.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial management.
* Fluency in English and Odia (speaking, reading, and writing).
* High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Compensation
Salary will be offered as per project norms and candidate experience.
