The Shripur Mahila-O-Khadi Unnayan Samity (SMOKUS) was founded by a group of committed women activists of Uttar Dinajpur district in West Bengal. The mission is to improve the living conditions of children and women improving their social and economic involvement so that they can assert their rights. Organization works closely on children education, promotion of rights, children participation and improvement of socio-economic situation of women through Self Help Groups.

Currently SMOKUS is working in an integral approach to achieve 3 objectives:
* Ensure retention and quality education for the most vulnerable marginalized children
* Protection of children from violence and exploitation
* Empowerment of children and youth to become actors of change through participation in community action

Position Overview
As a Project Coordinator, s/he plays a central role in ensuring the effective planning, implementation, and monitoring of child rights and community development initiatives. Her /is work focuses on empowering children, youth, and community groups through education, protection, and rights-based approaches. S/He provides continuous guidance and support to the project team while ensuring alignment with organizational values and strategic priorities. S/He also leads the team in achieving program objectives through close collaboration with multiple stakeholders at the government and community levels.

1. Team Support & Capacity Building
? Provide ongoing guidance, mentorship, and technical support to project team members to enhance their knowledge, skills, and capacity.
? Ensure that team members are equipped to deliver value-based, joyful child rights education across community platforms such as Children's Clubs, Youth Groups, SHGs, VLCPCs (Village-Level Child Protection Committees), Support Education Centers, and community forums.
? Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment to encourage learning and shared ownership of project goals.
2. Project Monitoring & Evaluation
? Conduct regular and timely monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of project activities to assess progress, identify challenges, and ensure impact.
? Use M&E findings to support continuous improvement of program implementation and reporting.
3. Activity Coordination & Follow-up
? Coordinate with project team members to ensure effective planning, follow-up, and execution of all scheduled activities.
? Provide hands-on support during field-level activities to maintain quality and consistency in program delivery.
4. Training & Knowledge Application
? Actively participate in training sessions organized by SMOKUS and its partners to build personal and team competencies.
? Apply training learnings in the field to strengthen project implementation and ensure practical, community-based application.
5. Stakeholder Coordination & Communication
? Maintain strong coordination with the Organization Secretary, Managing Committee, Admin & Finance Team, and Funding Partners to ensure smooth communication and alignment.
? Share regular updates, field insights, and feedback with internal and external stakeholders for informed decision-making and support.
6. Progress Documentation & Reporting
? Ensure regular and accurate updating of project progress, including activity records, outcome tracking, and beneficiary data.
? Prepare periodic reports and updates as required by the organization and funding agencies.
7. Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy
? Liaise with government officials, education departments, police, PRI representatives, and other key stakeholders to strengthen service delivery and accountability.
? Facilitate advocacy initiatives with children, youth groups and community groups to influence policy implementation and local governance participation.
8. Capacity Building of groups
? Facilitate strengthening of Child Clubs, Youth Groups, SHGs, and Child Protection Committee etc.
? Facilitate training, workshops, and awareness campaigns at the community level.

Qualifications & Experience
* Graduation/Post-Graduation in Rural Development, Social Work, Agriculture, Environmental Studies, or related fields
* 6-10 years of experience in development sector (Child Rights, Education, Protection and Environment protection is preferred)
* Strong understanding of PRI systems and community-based approaches.
* Experience working with SHGs and rural communities.
* Good facilitation, communication, and documentation skills.
* Working knowledge of MS Office; Power Point and communicate in Bengali is essential.
* Prior experience of working in districts is desirable.

Remuneration
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
