Waste Warriors is redefining what community-led waste management looks like in mountain ecosystems. Our projects span behaviour change, community mobilisation, solid waste systems, geography-based solutions, and youth leadership across the Indian Himalayan Region.

We're growing. Our work is growing. Now we're looking for someone who can translate that impact into powerful visuals, crisp content, and compelling narratives.

The role...
We need a designer-storyteller who understands how to turn field realities, technical insights, and community voices into content people stop to notice... and remember!

You'll design, write, edit, experiment, publish, and measure.
You'll make our work more visible, more accessible, and more meaningful on social media.

You could be a great fit if...
You design confidently in Canva and enjoy creating visuals that look crisp and balanced. (Brownie points if you illustrate)

You write short, clean captions and know how to open with a strong first line.

You can cut simple short-form videos and enjoy playing with reels, hooks, and transitions.

You handle feedback well and pay attention to the little things.

You're curious about people, mountains, communities, and the stories behind their work.

You're reliable. You follow brand guidelines. You care about getting things right.

What you'll be doing:
1. Designing content people want to look at
• Design posts, carousels, stories, reels
• Create graphics for awareness campaigns, events, and brand materials
• Support simple layouts for presentations, newsletters, and reports.
• Keep everything clean, clear, and on-brand.

2. Growing our digital community
• Create content for Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
• Write engaging hooks, flowing captions, and effective CTAs
• Edit reels using field footage and long-form clips.
• Run small experiments (hooks, sequences, timings), track performance, and iterate.
• Maintain a posting calendar and manage day-to-day updates.

3. Collecting and shaping stories
• Join field visits to shoot photos, short clips, and behind-the-scenes moments.
• Work with project teams to turn raw content into polished narratives.
• Keep our photo/video library neat, tagged, and easy to use.

4. Collaborating with the team
• Work closely with the communications team to deliver campaigns.
• Ask questions when needed, share ideas, and work on tight timelines.
• Make sure everything that goes out feels consistent and high-quality.
• You'll always have support and guidance. You won't be doing this alone.

Requirements
• 1-3 years of experience in design, content creation, or social media.
• Proficiency in Canva (must-have); Adobe is a bonus.
• Good eye for layout, colour, typography, and visual hierarchy.
• Basic video editing skills for short-form content.
• Clear writing skills with a friendly, sharp tone.
• Strong task planning and time management.
• Interest in the environment, communities, and impact storytelling
