Position: Lead Policy Engagement (Climate and Agroecology)

Location: Jaipur, Rajasthan / Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat
Key Responsibilities:
1.Assess and Align Policies with Climate-Resilient Agroecological Practices:
Evaluate existing policies on climate adaptation, sustainable agriculture, and ecological conservation, ensuring they address local environmental challenges and support VAAGDHARA’s agroecology initiatives.
2.Enhance Policy Implementation Through Collaboration with Government and Institutions:
Work with policymakers, agricultural bodies, and climate institutions to strengthen the execution of agroecology and climate policies, ensuring better access to resources, climate-smart farming techniques, and resilient food systems.
3.Ensure Community Participation in Climate and Agroecology Policy Processes:
Engage farming and indigenous communities in informing policies, integrating traditional knowledge, and developing localized solutions for climate resilience, sustainable land use, and ecological restoration.
4. Conduct Policy Research and Analysis for Strategic Engagement:
Undertake research and analysis on policies related to climate change, agroecology, food systems, and rural livelihoods to generate insights, policy briefs, and recommendations that strengthen advocacy, institutional engagement, and community-centered development approaches.
Honorarium: 66,000–78,000 INR per month(negotiable, commensurate with experience)
Qualification:
Master’s degree in Anthropology, Sociology, or Public Policy, with 4-5years of experience in policy informing or community mobilization related to indigenous issues.
