Position: Project Associate – Livelihoods & Community Mobilization (Junior Livelihood Expert)
Project: Mobilizing Resources and Enhancing Access to Social Protection and Livelihood Measures for Improving the Socio-Economic Well-being of Vulnerable Communities in Coal Mine Regions of Jharkhand
Location : Jharkhand - Ramgarh/Giridih District with frequent travel to villages and panchayats
Duration of Contract: 1 Year
Compensation : INR 40,000 per month (inclusive of all applicable taxes)

About the Project:
The project aims to strengthen access to social protection schemes and promote climate-resilient livelihood opportunities among vulnerable households in coal mine-affected regions of Jharkhand.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide support community mobilization and engagement activities in project villages and panchayats.
• Facilitate meetings with SHGs, youth groups, farmer groups, and community institutions such as Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Cooperatives and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs).
• Assist in baseline surveys, beneficiary identification, Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) exercises, and data collection.
• Support implementation and monitoring of project interventions, training and capacity building programs.
• Facilitate awareness campaigns for the beneficiaries on accessing the benefits from government schemes and entitlements.
• Maintain project records, beneficiary databases, and field documentation (including meeting minutes, case studies, success stories, training and project progress reports).
• Coordinate with panchayat representatives, local government officials, and partner organizations.
• Assist in organizing awareness sessions, training, workshops, exposure visits, and review meetings.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor/master’s degree in Rural Development, Agriculture, Social Work, Development Studies, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in rural development, livelihoods, agriculture, community mobilization, or social sector projects.
• Experience working directly with communities, SHGs, FPOs, farmer groups, or grassroots institutions.
• Basic understanding of government livelihood and social protection schemes.
• Good communication, facilitation, and documentation skills.
Desirable:
• Preference will be given to local candidates.
• Experience in coal mine-affected regions or tribal areas.
• Knowledge of English, Hindi and local dialects.
• Knowledge of MS Office
