Job Description – Female Outreach Worker (ORW)

Male IDU Programme

Position Title: Female Outreach Worker (ORW)

Salary: 10500.00 Salary/Month

Traveling cost: 1500.00/Months

Qualification & Experience

Minimum education: 12th Pass

Good knowledge of the local community and local language.

Understanding of the functioning of Targeted Intervention (TI) programs.

Preference will be given to experienced female peer educators (PEs) or female clients stabilized on OST.

Wives or female partners of Male Injecting Drug Users (IDUs) are encouraged to apply.

Knowledge & Skills:
• Sensitive and empathetic towards vulnerable communities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic knowledge of data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
• Ability to prepare reports and case studies.
• Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.
• Willingness to travel within the project area.
• Ability to work effectively in a team.
• Capacity to monitor activities and guide team members when required.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:
• Community Outreach
• Identify and maintain data of married IDUs, their spouses/regular sexual partners, and Female Injecting Drug Users (FIDUs).
• Conduct outreach activities among target communities.
• Awareness & Counselling
• Conduct one-to-one and group counselling sessions on:
• Harm Reduction
• Safe Injecting Practices
• Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST)
• Overdose Prevention
• Correct and Consistent Condom Use
• Reproductive and Child Health
• Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)
• Planning & Service Delivery
• Prepare micro-plans and vulnerability assessments to ensure need-based service delivery.
• Develop field visit plans in consultation with the project manager and ORW team.
• Assess demand for needles, syringes, and condoms and ensure uninterrupted supply.
• Health Linkages
• Motivate beneficiaries for HIV counseling and testing.
• Facilitate access to ICTC, ART centers, STI clinics, and other healthcare services.
• Support adherence to ART treatment and regular medical follow-ups.
• Community Mobilization
• Sensitize spouses and sexual partners regarding OST adherence and HIV prevention.
• Mobilize beneficiaries for health check-ups and counseling services.
• Identify key stakeholders and support advocacy activities within the community.
• Social Protection
• Facilitate access to social security schemes and government welfare programs for beneficiaries.
