YRGMERF is anticipating a project to strengthen the Urban Ecosystem Against Future Disease Threats by implementing a framework for urban-peri-urban coordination. This project if commissioned will require a team of below positions to support the coordination, implementation and monitoring of several components.
Key Responsibilities
The State Data Quality Assurance (DQA) Officer will be responsible for ensuring a performance tracker system is used for the project activities and data quality assurance systems are in place. Will report to Project Lead based at Bengaluru. Will work closely with other team members.
Performance Tracking
- In alignment with the project design, the State DQA officer is expected to establish a performance tracker in coordination with the National team and provides orientation to the state team members on its use.
- Regularly uses the tracker both in the field and while preparing the report to ensure that the monthly activity deliverables are in progress.
- Flags delays or performance lags in consultation with the city coordinator and project lead to prepare an action plan, so that the team is able to improve on their performance.
- Ensures timely preparation of reports, documents and technical briefs in consultation with the donor and stakeholders.
- Supports in preparation of baseline for the project and ensures regular monitoring of the deliverables against those baselines.
Data Quality Assurance
- Although no patient or disease level data will be captured or shared for use in the project, there will be a significant level of data use in implementing the project activities from secondary sources. The project team will also generate process and output level information for use, State DQA officer will adapt the DQA system developed by the National Team to the
- Works closely with the subject experts to ensure that the secondary sources of data are relevant for planning and designing interventions. How those secondary sources of data can be used for projections about future disease outbreaks or patterns.
- Conducts field visit to observe field operations first-hand, interact with local stakeholders
- Ensures that all project activities comply with YRGMERF’s organisational policies on ethics, safeguarding, data protection, and financial management.
Reporting and Documentation
- Ensures that the data quality checks are performed during field visits and the gaps are discussed with the team, subject experts.
- Progress monitoring and documentation of the activities for the submission to donor and stakeholders is a key responsibility of this position.
Additional Duties
Undertakes any other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor in support of project objectives.

- Ability to learn new tools and techniques including predictive analysis for disease surveillance
Qualifications and Experience
- Masters in Statistics or Epidemiology or Population Studies with minimum 5 years' experience in managing data systems and data use in programming in Karnataka under NUHM, Urban Health, Disease Surveillance, One Health Activities, National Vector Borne Control Program.
- Preference will be given to local candidates who understands and have worked in Karnataka Health Systems.
