Step Up for India is a not-for-profit organization working to improve English skills in non-English government school classrooms across India. Our English programs strengthen children's reading, writing, comprehension, and conversational abilities through bilingual, colourful textbooks, interactive audio-video content, songs, games, and activity-based learning methodologies. Our programs are designed to be easy to use, effective, empowering, and enjoyable—helping children develop confidence and a love for learning while building foundational English skills.
Since 2013, we have been implementing our programs across seven states - Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh. To date, we have trained over 35,000 government teachers and reached more than 8.5 lakh students across government schools.

We are currently seeking a Field Coordinator for Nashik, Maharashtra. What This Role Is About :
As a Field Coordinator, you will support the implementation of Step Up for India's English programs across government schools in your assigned region. The role involves regular school visits, teacher mentoring, coordination with education stakeholders, documentation, monitoring, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day implementation of our programs. You will work closely with teachers, school leaders, Block and District Education officials, and the Step Up for India team to strengthen classroom practices and improve student learning outcomes.
Key Responsibilities :
• Coordinate with education officials and school principals to facilitate smooth program implementation.
• Visit government schools regularly to monitor classroom implementation and provide mentoring and support to teachers.
• Observe classroom sessions and provide constructive feedback to teachers.
• Conduct baseline, midline, and endline assessments, and support data collection and reporting.
• Maintain accurate documentation of school visits, observations, program progress, and field insights.
• Support the planning and delivery of teacher training sessions (online and offline).
• Ensure timely distribution and tracking of teaching-learning materials.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with government stakeholders, school leaders, and teachers.
• Identify implementation challenges and work with the Regional Manager to develop practical solutions.
• Maintain operational records, field documentation, travel records, and expense reports.
• Plan and prioritize field activities to ensure effective program implementation.
• Represent Step Up for India professionally in all interactions with schools, communities, and government stakeholders.
Who We're Looking For :
• Graduate in any discipline (Education, Social Work, or Social Sciences preferred).
• 2–3 years of relevant work experience (NGO or education sector preferred).
• Good spoken and written English communication skills.
• Fluency in the local language of the assigned project location is essential.
• Strong coordination, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Comfortable interacting with teachers, school leaders, and government officials.
• Experience in teacher training, classroom observation, or education programs will be an added advantage.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Comfortable using digital tools for documentation and reporting.
• Organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple responsibilities independently.
• Must own or have access to a two-wheeler and possess a valid driving licence.
• Comfortable travelling regularly by two-wheeler for school visits and field coordination activities within the assigned project area.
