Cancer Foundation of India (CFI) is a leading non governmental organisation dedicated to cancer prevention through community action, education, research, and strategic communication.
CFI is looking for a public health professional with strong communication and content-creation skills. The person should be able to understand health issues and evidence, to translate them into clear, engaging content for different audiences.
If you are passionate about visual storytelling, enjoy creating content that inspires action, and want your work to contribute to cancer prevention in India, we would love to hear from you. This is not a desk based coordination role. We are looking for someone who enjoys being behind the camera, creating content in the field, editing it, publishing it, and ensuring it reaches the intended audience.
This is a full time, office based position in Kolkata.
Working closely with CFI's communication strategist and programme team, you will:
- Develop content for social media, websites, newsletters, reports, presentations and campaigns.
- Translate public health information and research into simple, accurate and engaging messages.
- Support the planning and implementation of cancer prevention and health communication programmes.
- Create stories, interviews, short videos and other digital content.
- Coordinate with programme partners, healthcare professionals, NGOs and other stakeholders.
- Document programme activities and prepare reports, meeting notes and communication materials.
- Manage content calendars and support CFI’s digital platforms.
We are looking for someone with
- A postgraduate degree in public health (MPH), communication, development studies, social sciences or a related field.
- Relevant experience in public health, development communication, content creation or programme communication.
- Excellent written and spoken English. Knowledge of Bengali and Hindi will be an advantage.
- Strong writing, editing, storytelling and digital communication skills.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and basic design or video-editing tools.
- The ability to work independently, manage deadlines and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
- An interest in cancer prevention, women’s health and public health communication.
