About the Organization:
Development Action Society (DAS) is a grassroots non-profit based in Kolkata, committed to empowering marginalized women and children through education, health, rights awareness, and community mobilization. DAS has a proven track record of impactful adolescent-focused interventions across vulnerable urban settlements.

About the Project:
This project aims to collectivize and empower adolescent girls across three registered slum communities in East Kolkata. The intervention tackles issues such as child/early marriage, child trafficking, school dropout, exploitative labour, gender-based violence, and poor SRHR knowledge, through peer leadership, sports, awareness-building, and community engagement.

Position Summary:
DAS is seeking a proactive and committed Field Supervisor to directly support and oversee implementation of project activities in the three urban communities at the field level. The ideal candidate will be responsible for mentoring community mobilisers, engaging adolescent groups, coordinating peer leader development, and facilitating smooth field operations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise, mentor, and support the team of Community Mobilisers across three slum pockets.
• Ensure implementation of weekly activity sessions with adolescent groups.
• Monitor progress of Adolescent Groups (adolescent girl collectives) and peer leaders.
• Support community campaigns on child marriage prevention, child trafficking, girls’ education, SRHR, and gender equality.
• Facilitate stakeholder meetings, community events, and home visits to engage parents and families.
• Track of collection of field data and report regularly to the Project Coordinator and Director.
• Work on Saturdays and Sundays; compensated with 1.5 days of weekly leave during weekdays.

Required Qualifications and Experience:
• Graduate in Social Work, Sociology, Education, Gender Studies, or any relevant field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience working with adolescents or community-based development projects.
• Proven ability to work in field-based settings, especially with marginalized populations.
• Strong understanding of gender, SRHR, and child/youth rights in urban slum contexts.

Desirable Skills:
• Strong mentoring and team coordination abilities.
• Fluency in Bengali and basic working knowledge of English.
• Good documentation and reporting skills.
• Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel).
• Passionate about adolescent rights and gender justice.
• Basic photography and storytelling abilities for social media platforms.

Salary (Consolidated):
?10,000 - ?15,000 per month (contractual, ESI, PPF Mandatory)
