Position: Community Mobilizer
Location: Assigned Cluster of 10–12 Centers, Marhaura (Chhapra), Bihar
Organization: Nari Gunjan (Women’s Voice)
Reporting To: Block Coordinator
Honorarium: ?10,000 per month + ?2,000 travel allowance
Contract: One year (renewable based on performance and funding)

About the Organization
Nari Gunjan (Women’s Voice), founded in 1987 under the leadership of Padmashree awardee Sudha Varghese, is a non-profit organization based in Patna, Bihar. The organization has been working extensively with the Musahar community, focusing on women’s economic empowerment, education, and health. In collaboration with an international agency, Nari Gunjan is implementing a project to mainstream out-of-school children across five blocks (Punpun, Bihta, Phulwarisharif, Danapur, Marhaura). The Mobile Learning Resource Centre initiative is a unique intervention to create mass-scale awareness and ensure girls are mainstreamed in government schools.

Key Responsibilities
Mobilize children from marginalized families (Musahar/Mahadalit) for enrollment in ASK and KK centres.

Encourage participation in CHC services and skill development programmes.

Conduct door-to-door outreach and awareness campaigns.

Monitor daily activities at ASK, KK, CHC, and skill centres; track attendance and participation.

Assist teachers and ICTs in activity-based learning, documentation, and workshops.

Organize mothers’ meetings, adolescent empowerment sessions, and health awareness workshops.

Inform families about Bihar government schemes and support documentation for entitlements.

Mobilize community participation in livelihood initiatives, cleanliness drives, and adolescent empowerment activities.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Number of children mobilized and enrolled.

Number of patients mobilized to CHC and outreach services.

Number of beneficiaries enrolled in skill development programmes.

Attendance and retention improvements across centres.

Number of mothers’ meetings, adolescent sessions, and workshops conducted.

Families successfully accessing government entitlements.

Cleanliness drives organized.

Documented success stories and case studies.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Work, Public Health, or related field (preferred).

2–4 years of experience in community mobilization, education, health outreach, or grassroots development.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging marginalized communities.

Familiarity with Bihar government schemes and entitlements.

Ability to support teachers, clinic staff, and trainers in community activities.

Proficiency in MS Office and report preparation.

Fluency in Hindi and local dialects; working knowledge of English preferred.
