Background:
Founded in 2009, Centre for Equity and Inclusion (CEQUIN) works in the states of North India, to create gender equitable communities, with a rights-based and sports for development approach. Our main thematic areas of working are ending violence against women and girls, leadership, health and wellbeing, economic empowerment and education. To accomplish our goal, beyond girls and women, we also work with other stakeholders such as men and boys, local communities, educational institutions, civil society organisations, local representatives, funders, think tanks, government, media and the private sector, to unleash transformational change.

Required Qualifications and Experience:
• Graduate in Social Work/ Social Science and/or other relevant fields from a reputed institution
• Minimum 2-4 years of relevant work experience in the development sector/ community-based organisation
• Good communication (oral and written) skills in Hindi and English, Haryanvi (Preferred)
• Strong digital competency (office software packages, data management, etc)
• Strong grasp over relevant gender and developmental concepts
• Behavioural skills which will be assets - problem solving, cultural sensitivity, adaptable, proactive/self-driven, team player, demonstrating ethics and integrity, time management, multi-tasking

Remuneration: Rs 30,000/- per month (depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, previous salary history and demonstrated capacities)

Job Description – Assistant Project Officer:
The Assistant Project Officer will support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities in Panipat, Haryana. The role involves coordination with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders to ensure timely and effective delivery of project objectives.

• Support the Programme Coordinator and Management Team in planning, implementing, and monitoring CEQUIN's programmes across Panipat.
• Develop monthly, quarterly, and activity-based implementation plans in consultation with the Head Office Programme Team, ensuring timely achievement of project deliverables.
• Lead and coordinate programme implementation at the Gender Resource Centre (GRC), community level, schools, and child-centred spaces, ensuring high-quality delivery of all interventions.
• Support the preparation of project plans, implementation schedules, activity calendars, and work plans.
• Mobilise and engage key stakeholders, including adolescent girls and boys, mothers, community members, schools, government departments, local representatives, and partner organisations to strengthen programme participation and ownership.
• Coordinate all logistical and operational arrangements for trainings, workshops, meetings, sports activities, campaigns, community events, and other programme interventions.
• Facilitate and oversee the delivery of training programmes, life skills sessions, gender awareness activities, sports-for-development initiatives, and other programme modules as per the approved curriculum.
• Supervise and provide day-to-day guidance to Project Assistants, ensuring effective task allocation, coordination, quality implementation, and timely completion of activities.
• Maintain accurate beneficiary records, attendance registers, databases, and programme documentation using MIS, Excel, or other approved systems.
• Ensure systematic documentation of programme implementation, including activity reports, photographs, case studies, success stories, beneficiary records, and evidence required for monitoring and donor reporting.
• Prepare and submit regular progress reports, monthly and quarterly updates, field reports, and other documentation in line with organisational and donor requirements.
• Support baseline, endline, periodic assessments, monitoring visits, surveys, data collection, and programme evaluation activities.
• Conduct and coordinate community-based advocacy and awareness campaigns, both offline and online, promoting gender equality and social inclusion.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with government departments, schools, community institutions, project partners, beneficiaries, and other stakeholders to strengthen programme implementation and sustainability.
• Research, map, and maintain a database of organisations and networks working with adolescent girls and boys across the state to promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and adoption of best practices.
• Represent CEQUIN at meetings, consultations, forums, and external platforms to advocate for gender equality and amplify the voices of adolescents.
• Support the Programme Coordinator in tracking project progress against outputs, outcomes, budgets, and key performance indicators (KPIs), and identify implementation challenges and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with CEQUIN's policies, safeguarding standards, donor guidelines, and reporting requirements during programme implementation.
• Undertake any other responsibilities assigned by the Programme Coordinator or Management Team in support of programme objectives.

Reporting: You will be supervised by and will report directly to the Project Coordinator & Assistant Programme Manager

Employment Status: Contractual, full time

Location: As a full-time engagement, this role is based at Panipat, with frequent local to the field sites to review and monitor programmes, and out of state travel as and when required.
