About the Project
Project Jeevan Setu – A Bridge to Better Health and Wellbeing is a community and system strengthening initiative aimed at improving health, nutrition, sanitation, and preventive healthcare outcomes among underserved communities. The project focuses on maternal and child health, adolescent health, nutrition, non-communicable diseases, behaviour change communication, community mobilization, capacity building of frontline workers, digital health, and convergence with government programmes.
Position Summary
The Project Coordinator will lead the implementation of project activities at the cluster level and serve as the primary point of coordination between ISDRR, district and block administration, health and ICDS departments, community institutions, schools, and other stakeholders. The position requires strong programme management, community engagement, and government liaison skills to ensure timely and quality implementation of project interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage day-to-day implementation of project activities in the assigned clusters. Clusters are typically the identified intervention areas in 2-3 districts of the particular state.
- Develop project implementation plans, activity calendars, and monthly work plans.
- Liaise with District Administration, Health Department, ICDS, Education Department, Panchayati Raj Institutions, and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate community mobilization through SHGs, VHSNCs, frontline workers, schools, and community institutions.
- Plan and coordinate health camps, awareness campaigns, trainings, workshops, and community events.
- Engage, train and supervise Community Educators for the implementation of project activities in the community.
- Ensure timely achievement of project outputs, outcomes, and reporting indicators.
- Monitor field implementation through regular supportive supervision and field visits.
- Ensure quality data collection, documentation, reporting, and maintenance of project records.
- Prepare monthly progress reports, quarterly reports, case studies, success stories, and donor documentation.
- Facilitate convergence with relevant government schemes and programmes.
- Represent ISDRR at the stakeholder meetings at district/ block level or other coordination forums.
Essential Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW), Public Health (MPH), Rural Development, Sociology, Development Studies, or a related discipline.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in managing community development or public health programmes.
- Experience of working with Government Departments, NHM, ICDS, CSR projects, or development organizations.
- Strong understanding of community mobilization, behaviour change communication, and government systems.
- Experience in project planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English and the local language.
- Good computer proficiency including MS Office and digital reporting tools.
Desirable
- Experience in CSR-funded projects.
- Experience in maternal and child health, nutrition, WASH, adolescent health.
- Experience in training and capacity building of frontline workers.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the project area.
