Position - Advisor – Nutrition
Location - Delhi
The Advisor - Nutrition will provide technical and programmatic support to strengthen the planning, implementation, monitoring, and scale-up of nutrition interventions across priority states. The role will work closely with the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), state governments, and development partners to support evidence-based program implementation, capacity building, technical documentation, and stakeholder coordination. The incumbent is expected to ensure timely delivery of program activities, facilitate knowledge sharing, undertake field visits, and contribute to achieving the objectives of AMB Abhiyaan in alignment with national nutrition priorities.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Provide strategic and technical advisory support to nutrition programs, including AMB Abhiyaan, under the overall guidance of the Program Director.
• Provide technical guidance, facilitate capacity-building initiatives, and deliver training to government officials and other key stakeholders.
• Support design and refinement of program strategies, implementation frameworks, and technical approaches in alignment with the Government of India's priorities, while providing oversight for day-to-day program implementation.
• Provide technical support to state governments through regular coordination, supportive supervision, and field visits to strengthen program implementation and monitor progress.
• Lead the development and technical review of knowledge products and communication materials, including concept notes, technical guidelines, learning resource packages, job aids, factsheets, advocacy materials, brochures, white papers, newsletters, and other program documents.
• Liaise with national and state-level stakeholders to strengthen inter-sectoral coordination, promote knowledge sharing, and ensure effective implementation of nutrition interventions.
• Monitor program progress, identify implementation gaps, and recommend evidence-based solutions to improve program quality and outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
• Required: Master’s degree in nutrition, Public Health, or a related field.
Preferred: Doctoral degree (PhD) in Nutrition, Public Health, or a related discipline.
• Required:7 + years' experience of working in public health and nutrition at national/state level.
Preferred: Familiarity with Public Health & Nutrition programs including National Health Mission, AMB
Skills and Competencies
• Experience and demonstrated ability in Maternal Nutrition, Anemia Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan etc.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Hindi.
• Technically proficient with skills required for the assigned task.
• Proficiency in writing technical documents such as training materials and reports.
• Ability to work within an international program team and communicate regularly with a variety of team members including senior government officials.
• Ability to develop productive working relationships with stakeholders
• Ability to handle a variety of assignments
• Ability to multitask and work in a multi-cultural team.
• Willingness and flexibility to work on a wide range of tasks.
• Strong demonstrated MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
