MUSE (founded in 2002) is a social-purpose organization pioneering community-led models of resilience in India’s most challenging social and environmental regions. Building on the success of our community dental health initiatives, MUSE is establishing a permanent, year-round Primary Vision Center (PVC) in Kaza to bring high-quality, affordable eye care to the Trans-Himalayas.

Role Overview & Responsibilities:

We are seeking a dedicated Optometrist to lead clinical care, patient triage, and diagnostic operations at the Kaza facility.
• Clinical Care & Diagnostics: Conduct comprehensive eye exams, refractions, and operate diagnostic equipment (Slit Lamp, Auto Refractometer, Lensmeter).
• Tele-Ophthalmology & Referrals: Facilitate remote specialist consultations during winter isolation months and maintain digital patient referral pipelines.
• Team Supervision: Mentor and work alongside an on-ground local Clinical Assistant.

Qualifications & Experience:
• Degree or Diploma in Optometry (B.Optom, B.Sc. Optometry, DOT, or equivalent) from a recognized institute.
• 1–5 years of clinical experience (adaptable early-career professionals and fresh graduates with strong clinical skills are welcome).
• Readiness to live and work in a high-altitude, cold-desert setting.
