Sristy For Human Society invites applications from qualified candidates for the position of Counsellor for its Bridge Population Targeted Intervention (TI) Project, implemented under the West Bengal State AIDS Prevention & Control Society (WBSAP&CS) in Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling districts.

The Counsellor will be responsible for providing counselling and psychosocial support to the target population, facilitating appropriate health and service linkages, maintaining confidentiality, and supporting the project team in improving service uptake and follow-up among beneficiaries.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and need-based counselling to the target population in a confidential, respectful and non-judgmental manner.
Provide counselling related to HIV prevention, risk reduction, HIV testing, STI/RTI services and other relevant health services.
Facilitate and strengthen referrals and linkages with ICTC, STI clinics, ART Centres and other appropriate government health facilities.
Follow up with beneficiaries who are due or overdue for required health services and support them in accessing appropriate services.
Coordinate with Outreach Workers, Peer Educators and other project staff to identify beneficiaries requiring counselling and referral support.
Maintain proper counselling records, registers, referral records and other project documentation as required.
Ensure confidentiality and safe handling of beneficiary information and records.
Participate in case discussions, review meetings, training programmes and other capacity-building activities.
Support awareness, health education and community-based counselling activities conducted under the project.
Coordinate with relevant healthcare providers and stakeholders to ensure continuity of care and service uptake.
Support the Project Manager and other project staff in achieving project objectives and performance indicators.
Ensure all counselling and related activities are implemented in accordance with applicable NACO and WBSAP&CS guidelines.
Provide necessary programme and field-level work support to the Project Coordinator/Project Manager in planning, coordination, documentation, reporting, review meetings, and other project-related activities as required.
Perform any other official duties or responsibilities assigned by the organization from time to time, as required for the effective functioning and implementation of the project.

Eligibility / Qualification:
MSW / Master's Degree in Sociology / Psychology; or
Diploma in a relevant/proper Counselling course.
Candidates with relevant counselling, community health, HIV/AIDS or public health experience will be preferred.
Candidates should possess good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with vulnerable and high-risk populations.
