Project Description:
Access to Justice for Children, a project of Just Rights for Children, UK, aims to prevent and eliminate child trafficking, child sexual abuse [both physical and online, including child sexual exploitation and abuse material (CSEAM)], and child marriage. Through this programme, JRC UK seeks to create an ecosystem that prevents and responds to violence against children by strengthening legal interventions, promoting community engagement, and enhancing access to justice and victim rehabilitation.

State Intervention Officer
East Sikkim (Gangtok), North Sikkim (Manhan), Pakyong, Soreng, South Sikkim (Namchi) And West Sikkim (Gyalshing)

Key Roles:

1. Ensure that the Project is duly implemented in accordance with the agreed timelines and schedules.
2. To ensure timely and effective implementation of the programmes, activities and campaigns against child marriages and child trafficking at the state level.
3. To engage with state and district-level government officials, child protection officials, law enforcement officials and other stakeholders to build partnership of the organisation with the objective to strengthen the child protection ecosystem at the state level.
4. To reach out to the lawmakers, government officials, religious leaders and schools for support towards the initiative of the organisation and to ensure their engagement during campaign on Child trafficking and child marriage free India.
5. To reach out to the district administration and child protection stakeholders of the districts- East Sikkim (Gangtok), North Sikkim (Manhan), Pakyong, Soreng, South Sikkim (Namchi) and West Sikkim (Gyalshing) for strengthening of institutional responses for the efforts against child marriage and child trafficking in the state.
6. To participate and ensure maximum reach out of the organisation with the local communities, panchayats and schools during the campaigns against child trafficking and child marriages
7. And any other work assignment assigned by the reporting manager/officer/Central Office.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Social Work (MSW), Sociology, Rural Development, Psychology, or any other related field.
1. 1-2 years of experience in child protection, anti-human trafficking, child labour, or child rights projects.
2. Brief/ basic knowledge of POCSO Act, Child Marriage Prohibition Act, JJ Act and Child Labour Act.
3. Enjoys work with people from diverse groups, communities and affiliations.
4. Empathy, diverse outlook and open to new experiences
5. Strong leadership, communication, and report-writing skills.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management.
7. Willingness to travel extensively within the district.
8. Working experience with district Government agencies will be an added advantage.
