VACANCY FOR COMMUNITY SOCIAL WORKER IN RAMANAGARA, BENGALURU SOUTH, KARNATAKA
Mamta Health Institute for Mother and Child, Indian NGO, is working in the area of public health and social development for 35 years. The organization is looking for social workers, preferably females, for its project with corporate social responsibility, to improve the Health and Nutrition of Women (20-49 years old), Adolescents (10-19 years of age) and infants/young children (upto 2 years of age).
Position : Community Social Worker (two positions)
Duration:18 months (further extension based on availability)
Location: For 12-15 villages in Ramanagara Taluk, Bengaluru South
Job description :
i. Will work with the project team and report to the project coordinator and MIS Manager.
ii. Will educate community women, parents/caregivers of small children and school adolescents on age-appropriate balanced diet for nutritional health with focus on prevention of under-nutrition, anemia, obesity and life-style diseases as diabetes and hypertension.
iii. Mobilize key community stakeholders for village led actions on health and nutrition of women, adolescents and children.
iv. Promote health awareness in community and schools.
v. Hold nutrition recipe learning workshops in community
vi. Organise village level celebration of important days to promote health and nutrition awareness.
vii. Strengthen community access to primary health care and Health Camps.
viii. Timely submission of reports with Activity Updates and Financial Reporting
ix. Timely uploading of MIS data on the project dashboard.
Qualification and experience: Have completed PUC (10+2) or B.A., preferably in social science/life science/ Home science /Nutrition; Past work experience in NGO/ health and social development sector, in the relevant area will be an advantage for selection.
Language: Fluency in Kannada (Speaking, Reading and Writing) is MUST; Basic communication skills in English and/or Hindi for official communication and documentation will be added advantage.
Smart Phone/Computer skills: Use SMART phone , can learn and operate digital health devices as weighing machine, BP and blood sugar machines, sending emails, can prepare small data and activity reports on office computer.
Salary: Rs. 22500-23500 per month as Cost to Company (Depends on the qualification and past experience in relevant area.
