Position: Outreach Worker (ORW) - FSW

Asha Gramotthan Sansthan invites applications from motivated, responsible, and community-oriented female candidates for the position of Outreach Worker (ORW) - Female Sex Worker (FSW) under the HIV/AIDS Targeted Intervention (TI) Programme.

Reporting To: Project Manager / Project Coordinator
Project: HIV/AIDS Targeted Intervention (TI) Programme

* KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting outreach and community-based activities among the FSW community and supporting the project in achieving its programme objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

Conduct regular field/outreach visits and maintain contact with FSW community members.
Identify, map, and establish contact with new and existing FSWs in the assigned area.
Develop and maintain trust-based relationships with beneficiaries.
Motivate beneficiaries for regular HIV/STI testing and counselling.
Promote condom use and safer sexual practices through appropriate counselling and risk-reduction information.
Distribute condoms and other approved prevention materials as per programme guidelines.
Facilitate referrals and linkages with ICTC, ART Centres, STI/RTI clinics, TB services, and other health facilities.
Support beneficiaries in accessing government health and social welfare services.
Conduct regular follow-up of referrals and support continuity of health services.
Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, beneficiaries, referrals, and follow-ups.
Assist in updating project registers, formats, and SOCH/programme-related records, as applicable.
Participate in community meetings, awareness activities, health camps, and special events.
Support the project team in achieving monthly targets and programme indicators.
Coordinate with Peer Educators, Counsellors, ORWs, Project Coordinator, and other project staff.
Maintain confidentiality, dignity, privacy, and respect of all beneficiaries.
Report field-level challenges, critical cases, and service gaps to the supervisor.
Perform other project-related responsibilities assigned by the Project Manager/Coordinator.
* EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
Minimum 10th/12th pass from a recognized board.
Candidates with higher educational qualifications or relevant community-work experience will be preferred.
Previous experience in HIV/AIDS, Targeted Intervention (TI), FSW/HRG outreach, community mobilization, health programmes, or NGO projects will be an added advantage.
* DESIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

The ideal candidate should have:

Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with the FSW community.
Strong community mobilization and outreach skills.
Willingness to travel within the assigned field area.
Ability to work with vulnerable and marginalized communities in a non-judgmental and respectful manner.
Basic knowledge of HIV/AIDS, STI/RTI, TB, prevention, testing, treatment, and referral services will be preferred.
Basic documentation and reporting skills.
Basic knowledge of smartphones, WhatsApp, and digital data entry.
Ability to work as part of a team and achieve programme targets.
Commitment to maintaining beneficiary confidentiality.

* EXPERIENCE

Preference will be given to candidates having experience in:
HIV/AIDS Targeted Intervention Projects
FSW/HRG outreach programmes
NACO/State AIDS Control Society-supported projects
Community-based health programmes
NGO/social development projects
Peer education and community mobilization

Freshers with good communication skills and a willingness to work in the field may also apply.

* HONORARIUM & BENEFITS
Basic Honorarium: 10,500 per month
Travel Allowance: 1,500 per month
Accidental Insurance: As per project/organizational norms

* JOB REQUIREMENTS
The candidate must be willing to work in the assigned field area.
Regular field visits and interaction with the community will be required.
The candidate should be comfortable working flexible hours according to field requirements.
Candidates from Mahoba or nearby areas will be preferred.
