       Job Description 

Position: Manager- Grants Management & Donor Compliance 
 
Reports to: Sr. Manager – Program Implementation 
 
Location: Bangalore 
 
CTC:Up to Rs 10 LPA (Commensurate with skills, experience, and suitability for the role.) 
 
Functional Responsibilities: 
Manager- Grants Management & Donor Compliance is responsible for coordinating and stewarding the end-to-end grant lifecycle for all externally funded projects at Rise Against Hunger India. The role ensures effective donor coordination, disciplined internal alignment, accurate documentation, and timely compliance across grant-funded programs, enabling program teams to focus on high-quality execution. 
 
This position functions as the central coordination point between donors and internal teams, ensuring that grant commitments are clearly understood, operationally supported, and consistently fulfilled. 
 
Core Accountabilities 
  • Timely and accurate donor reporting and compliance across all grants 
  • Clear internal coordination and readiness for grant-funded programs 
  • Integrity and accessibility of grant documentation and records 
  • Early identification and escalation of risks related to grant implementation or compliance 
  • Smooth donor experience through responsive coordination and professionalism  
Key Responsibilities 
 
1. Donor Liaison & External Coordination 
  • Serve as the primary coordination interface between Rise Against Hunger India and grant donors/funders. 
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of all donor-required documentation, including compliance records, agreements, progress reports, and other contractual commitments. 
  • Act as the focal point for responding to donor queries and information requests, coordinating inputs from relevant internal teams as required. 
  • Facilitate donor-led audits, due-diligence processes, and field assessments in coordination with Program, Finance, and Operations teams.  
2. Grants Documentation, Records & Compliance 
  • Act as the single point of accountability for maintaining complete and accurate records for all grant applications, contracts, agreements, and related documentation. 
  • Develop and maintain a centralized, digitally accessible information management system containing up-to-date organizational, statutory, financial, and programmatic data required for grant processes. 
  • Ensure systematic compilation, storage, and retrieval of Finance and Program documentation across all externally funded grant projects.  
3. Proposal & Application Process Coordination 
  • Identify, research, and track grant funding opportunities for community-based programs, including areas such as livelihoods, climate response, disaster preparedness, child nutrition, water, sanitation, and related thematic priorities. 
  • Work closely with Program Quality managers, technical specialists, and Program Implementation teams to assess program relevance, strategic fit, and readiness for grant pursuit. 
  • Ensure that grant eligibility, compliance, and documentation requirements are fully reviewed and met before proceeding with proposal development and submission. 
  • Develop proposal checklists and coordinate cross-functional inputs from Program, Finance, M&E, and Operations teams to ensure completeness and accuracy. 
  • Ensure proposals meet all donor-specified legal, compliance, and programmatic requirements prior to submission.  
4. Grant Start-Up & Internal Readiness Facilitation 
  • Upon grant approval, facilitate internal planning and readiness by coordinating with Program, Finance, HR, and Operations teams to align on grant requirements, timelines, and resources. 
  • Support recruitment, deployment, or orientation of grant-funded positions in coordination with the Program Quality and HR teams. 
  • Co-facilitate grant dissemination and orientation workshops to ensure project teams clearly understand commitments, deliverables, and compliance requirements. 
  • Coordinate grant-linked procurement and approval processes, including follow-up on PIPs, MSRs, and related documentation with relevant teams.  
5. Grant Monitoring, Reporting & Internal Escalation 
  • Coordinate structured grant review mechanisms, including monthly review meetings with program managers, finance teams, and implementation units. 
  • Track implementation progress, spending patterns, and compliance adherence across grant projects. 
  • Escalate delays, deviations, or non-compliance issues to the Sr. Manager – Program Implementation and the Program Head in a timely manner. 
  • Coordinate invoicing, fund release requests, and confirmation of fund receipts with the Finance team. 
  • Provide orientation and guidance to implementation units on approved grant commitments, reporting schedules, and compliance expectations.  
6. Qualifications & Experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree required; postgraduate qualification in development studies, management, finance, or a related field preferred. 
  • 8–10 years of experience in grants coordination, donor reporting, program management support, or compliance roles within the development or social sector. 
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating across multiple internal departments and external stakeholders. 
  • Prior exposure to donor audits, due-diligence processes, and compliance-heavy environments strongly preferred.  
Key Competencies & Capabilities 
  • Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple grant processes simultaneously. 
  • High attention to detail and process discipline, particularly in documentation, compliance, and reporting. 
  • Ability to synthesize information from multiple functions and translate requirements clearly for implementation teams. 
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, particularly in donor-facing contexts. 
  • Problem-solving mindset with confidence to flag risks and follow through on unresolved issues. 
  • Alignment with organizational values of credibility, accountability, and delivery excellence.  
Liaison and Coordination: 
  • Act as the main contact between the organization and donors/funders. 
  • Ensure timely submission of compliance documentation, contracted related papers/agreements, project progress reports and other organizational commitments to the donors 
  • Be the focal point to respond to all donor queries and requests 
  • Coordinate with Program team, RM & meal packaging, Finance and other departments to collect relevant information to respond to the donor questions. 
  • Facilitate field assessments, due diligence or audit exercises conducted by donors from time to time 
      Documentation and Compliance: 
  • Be the sole point person for all grant applications, proposals, contracts, agreements and other records for all externally funded grants executed by Rise Against Hunger India 
  • Develop and maintain a central information management system with up-to-date organizational data including statutory, financial, and programmatic information to be submitted as and when required 
  • Be responsible for compiling and storing in digitally accessible platforms all Finance and Program related reports, documents for all grant projects.  
Proposal Development Process Coordination: 
  • Research and identify authentic funding opportunities aligned with the organization's mission and values. 
  • Ensure that grant eligibility is fully met before moving ahead with the application process (and submission of all supporting documents) 
  • Review grant application requirements, develop checklist and coordinate with the departments and teams involved in the process to provide required information 
  • Ensure proposals meet all legal, compliance, and programmatic requirements specified by donors.  
Grants Implementation Coordination  
  • After grant approval has been received from a donor, facilitate planning and preparations by bringing together Finance, Program, HR and Operations team to decide on the grant requirements (staff, facilities, equipment etc.) 
  • Help (together with the PQ team) in the process of developing JD, candidate selection or deployment of existing staff and orientation etc. for grants related positions  
  • Co-lead and facilitate the process of grant dissemination workshop for the project team responsible for execution of grants 
  • Coordinate purchase and procurement processes and facilitate approval of PIP/MSRs etc. for all grants (follow-up with Grants Managers or Coordinators on these)  
Grant Monitoring and Reporting: 
  • Coordinate and facilitate monthly review meetings among managers/coordinators overseeing specific grants, finance team, field managers from implementation locations, and other HO teams to track progress, review spending and develop plans for the following month 
  • Escalate issues of slow progress, deviations or non-compliance to Senior Manager, Program Implementation and the Program Head  
  • Send invoices, fund release requests, and verify receipt of funds with the Finance team 
  • Provide orientation to implementation units on approved grant commitments and reporting requirements.
