Eligibility
• B.Sc. Nursing / GNM / ANM from a Government-recognized institution
• Must be registered with the appropriate Nursing Council
• Minimum 2 years of relevant clinical experience
• OT experience and OT management skills preferred
• Experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology / Maternity Hospital / Surgical setup will be preferred
• Basic proficiency in MS Office, computers and hospital documentation
Duties & Responsibilities
• Work under the guidance of the Consultant / Medical Officer / Hospital In-charge.
• Manage day-to-day OT, ward and IPD nursing activities.
• Responsible for patient preparation before procedures and surgeries and appropriate pre- and postoperative nursing care.
• Maintain OT asepsis, sterilization, autoclaving and proper processing of surgical instruments.
• Prepare the OT before procedures and ensure availability of necessary instruments, equipment, drugs and consumables.
• Assist the surgeon/consultant during gynaecological, obstetric, endoscopic and other surgical procedures.
• Implement and monitor infection-prevention, biomedical-waste management and biosafety measures.
• Assist with the informed-consent process, ensuring that appropriate consent documentation has been completed before procedures.
• Provide appropriate patient education and counselling as instructed by the treating doctor, including pre- and post-procedure guidance.
• Coordinate follow-up of ANC, PNC, family-planning, IUCD and postoperative patients, as required.
• Maintain stock and logistics of medicines, contraceptives, instruments, equipment, consumables and linen and ensure adequate availability.
• Supervise support staff and ensure proper cleanliness, hygiene and infection-control practices in OT and patient-care areas.
• Maintain IPD files, nursing records, OT records, registers and other hospital documentation accurately.
• Monitor patients, recognize warning signs and promptly communicate any deterioration or complication to the treating doctor.
• Provide compassionate, confidential and professional nursing care to all patients.
Preferred Skills
Candidates with experience in OT management, OBGYN procedures, maternity care, labour room, endoscopy or IVF setup will be given preference.
Good communication skills, teamwork, patient counselling, documentation and computer skills are desirable.
Salary : Commensurate with qualification, experience and skills.
