Programme Officer (PO) – CFR
Location: Seethampeta Mandal, Parvathipuram Manyam District, Andhra Pradesh
We are seeking a competent and committed professional with 3–5 years of relevant experience in facilitating and implementation of Forest Rights Act (FRA), strengthening Grama Sabhas, facilitating Community Forest Rights (CFR) Management Plans and having knowledge on PESA and forest conservation. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing technical guidance to CSOs on FRA and coordinate with government departments on implementation of CFR management plans. The role will also involve monitoring programme progress and outcomes, facilitating capacity building and convergence, and supporting the team in achieving project objectives and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement annual and quarterly action plans for FRA in coordination with the project team. Provide technical guidance to Project Coordinators, field staff, CRPs and CSOs on FRA implementation.
- Monitor the progress and quality of CFR and Community Forest Resource rights claims and ensure timely follow-up. Facilitate convergence with relevant government schemes and programmes for effective implementation of recognised rights.
- Review field data, ensure data quality and support MIS and programme database updates.
- Facilitate the preparation, verification and submission of CFR claims and related documentation.
- Organise review meetings, workshops, exposure visits and learning events for communities, field teams and stakeholders.
- Track programme indicators, milestones, and budgets and initiate corrective actions where necessary. Support baseline studies, assessments, evaluations and other programme research.
- Represent the organisation in relevant government meetings, consultations, and forums on FRA and forest governance.
- Contribute to organisational learning, strategic planning and identification of emerging opportunities. Ensure programme implementation complies with organisational policies, donor requirements, and statutory provisions.
- Mentor field teams to strengthen community ownership, women’s participation and inclusive decision-making.
- Develop training, IEC, and resource materials on FRA, CFR management and community forest governance.
- Document key processes, innovations, challenges, case studies and learning from FRA interventions.
- Prepare donor reports, presentations, and other programme documents as required.
Qualifications required: Masters in Forestry / Development studies / Agriculture / Social Sciences / Natural Resource Management / Rural Development
Remuneration: CTO – up to Rs.6 Lakhs per annum including PF, Gratuity and Health Insurance
