About Azad Foundation
 
Azad is a professional feminist organization working across social and religious divides to enable resource poor women to empower themselves by engaging them in viable non- traditional livelihood options. Azad is committed to breaking patriarchal boundaries and structures so that the women can exercise control over resources and their lives and live a life of dignity. This is done through transformative capacity building programs around the self and the skills needed for non-traditional livelihood, based on adult learning principles. Azad also engages with both men and women in their communities so that both can construct a safe and supportive space for their development. Currently Azad Foundation operates directly in Delhi, Jaipur, Chennai and Kolkata and in partnership with other organizations in Indore, Bhubaneshwar, Ahmedabad and Lucknow.
 
 
About RPAC
The Research, Policy Analysis and Communications team of Azad Foundation functions as an action research team which brings insights from the ground to build and share knowledge. Working closely with programme teams, the Senior Specialist RPAC will implement monitoring, evaluation and impact analysis of the programmes at Azad.
 
The Senior Specialist RPAC is expected to maximize the positive impact of our programmes by overseeing implementation of a Research, policy engagement and Communications portfolio. She/they is expected to have knowledge and analysis about macro issues around the world, feminist views and discourses, intersectionality and current affairs and contribute actively to shaping the agenda of the RPAC team, such that it is in line with the Azad Foundation, Five Year Strategy. Senior Specialist RPAC will be responsible for delivering on the commitments for the Department. As a mid to senior level leader in the RPAC team, the Senior Specialist expected to lead, mentor, nurture and support the team members to ensure each member is able to harness their fullest potential.
 
 
 
 
Role Description – Key Responsibilities
 
You will be overall responsible for implementing and monitoring the RPAC agenda as per the Azad Strategic plan and building and supporting a team that is able to work towards delivering the respective tasks assigned to them.
 
About the Role: Research, Policy Analysis and Communications
  1. Support in designing, planning, implementing and managing for Research & communication plan around Non-Traditional Livelihoods and Women and allied issues as well as other thematic areas on which Azad Works and undertake effective dissemination of research findings. Work with the thematic lead RPAC to ensure that the findings get plugged into the mainstream knowledge systems, reputed journals and shared in the media.
  2. Ensure the quality data collected is analyzed timely and feedback to the internal stakeholders in time and in a manner that supports their work
  3. Coordinate and take the lead in planning and implementing the activities of Non-Traditional Livelihoods Network related to research, learning journeys, policy engagement and overall coordination amongst the members.
  4. Develop strategies with support from Thematic Lead RPAC for Azad’s engagement with the various media (audiovisual, social, print & digital) to ensure consistency of messaging and effectively packaging the messages with which Azad plans to reach out. Implement the agreed strategies on ground with support from the communications Team.
  5. Facilitate monthly meetings of the implementation of the operational plan and present learning analysis to the leadership.
  6. Plan and ensure execution of institutional processes such as reviews, alumni meet, and campaigns, as an intersection between senior and mid-level leadership.
  7. Able to hold a team, consultants, stakeholders, network members and ready to work with several teams internally.
  8. Participating in policy engagement with diverse stakeholders including government bodies as per plan
  9. Networking with potential partners, stakeholders, CSOs, policymakers and others.

  • To be responsible for strengthening and overall management of the RPAC team
  • Define and monitor performance standards for the team and undertake regular reviews.
  • Ensure team management and build capacities.
  • Have a fairly updated perspective about current local and global development discourses, structures and mechanisms
 
 
 
 
Professional Experience – 7-8 years’ experience of working in the Social Sector / NGO/policy research organization and of having been in leadership position
  • Good oral and written communication skills (English /Hindi and Knowledge of other Indian Languages will be an asset
  • Excellent leadership skills and the ability to coordinate a team efficiently in order to implement the organization’s mission.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, arbitration and ability to manage multiple types of tasks
  • Mobility within the assigned area. The job will require moderate travel.
Excellent skill of working with multiple teams.
Open to new ideas, concepts and learnings.
CTC- 75000-80000/Month
