About the Program

VAANI Deaf Children’s Foundation is establishing a first-of-its-kind Higher Education Academy in Kolkata, designed to provide a structured six-year educational pathway for deaf students, spanning Class 11 through undergraduate studies.

The Academy will integrate academic learning, digital literacy, and life skills, equipping students with the knowledge, competencies, and professional readiness required to secure meaningful employment in corporate and professional environments. A key focus of the program will be on developing strong English language proficiency to enhance communication skills, workplace readiness, and access to broader opportunities.

Beyond academics, the initiative aims to empower students to become confident individuals, role models, and agents of change within their communities by fostering independence, leadership, and inclusive participation in society.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

1. Develop and implement engaging English language content.
2. Create engaging lesson plans that incorporate a variety of instructional strategies to promote active participation and critical thinking.
3. Deliver effective English language instruction using diverse teaching methods.
4. Utilize a variety of assessment tools and techniques to measure student understanding and progress, providing timely feedback to support growth and achievement.
5. Develop a positive environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported in their learning journey.
6. Utilize technology to enhance English language learning experiences.
7. Establish a positive and structured classroom environment for effective language acquisition.
8. Maintain accurate records of academic performance, attendance and other relevant data.
9. Generate and analyse reports to assess the effectiveness of academic programs.

8. Readiness to learn Indian Sign Language (ISL) is essential. (Training provided)
9. Prior knowledge of ISL is preferred or willingness to learn ( Training provided)

Job Type: Full-time
CTC Per Annum: 5.5 to 6.60

Academics: Masters in English (MA)

Experience:
• 3 year and above of teaching experience
• Proficiency in Indian Sign Language (ISL) is highly preferred.
• Prior experience working with deaf children and/or youth will be an added advantage
