Position: Education Specialist-Mathematics _Subject Expert
About the Program:
VAANI Deaf Children’s Foundation is establishing a first-of-its-kind Higher Education Academy in Kolkata, designed to provide a structured six-year educational pathway for deaf students, spanning Class 11 through undergraduate studies.
The Academy will integrate academic learning, digital literacy, and life skills, equipping students with the knowledge, competencies, and professional readiness required to secure meaningful employment in corporate and professional environments. Beyond academics, the program aims to empower students to become role models and agents of change within their communities.
Key Responsibilities –Trainer / Teacher for Maths ( including Preparatory Year General knowledge)
1. Develop and implement engaging curricula in Accountancy and Maths for Higher Secondary levels together with general knowledge
2. Create interactive lesson plans using diverse instructional strategies to promote logical reasoning, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
3. Deliver effective instruction in Mathematics and Indian Sign Language (ISL), adapting teaching methods to meet the communication needs of deaf learners.
4. Use a variety of assessment tools to evaluate student understanding and progress, providing timely and constructive feedback for improvement.
5. Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and confident in their learning journey.
6. Integrate technology and visual teaching aids to enhance conceptual understanding and engagement.
7. Establish a structured classroom environment that supports effective language acquisition, particularly in ISL and English.
8. Maintain accurate records of academic performance, attendance, and student progress.
9. Generate and analyze reports to assess learning outcomes and the effectiveness of instructional strategies.

3. Proficiency in written/spoken English to support language development.
4. Inclusive Teaching Skills: Experience in adapting teaching strategies to meet the needs of deaf and hearing impaired students.
5. Concept Simplification & Visual Teaching Ability: Skill in breaking down complex mathematical concepts using visual aids, gestures, and activity-based methods.
6. Pedagogical Expertise : Strong foundation in teaching methodologies, lesson planning, and student-centered learning approaches.
7. Classroom Management Skills: Ability to create a structured, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
8. Assessment & Feedback Skills: Competence in designing assessments and providing constructive feedback to track and improve student progress.
9. Technology Integration Skills: Proficiency in using digital tools (e.g., presentations, spreadsheets, learning platforms) to enhance learning.
10. Adaptability & Patience: Flexibility in teaching approaches and patience to support diverse learning paces and needs.
11. Data Analysis & Reporting Skills: Ability to track student performance, maintain records, and analyze learning outcomes.
12. Prior knowledge of ISL is preferred or willingness to learn ( Training provided)
Job Type: Full-time
CTC Per Annum: 5.5 to 6.60
Academics: Masters in Accountancy ( M.Com) with a background of Mathematics

Experience:
• 3 year and above of teaching experience
• Proficiency in Indian Sign Language (ISL) is highly preferred.
• Prior experience working with deaf children and/or youth will be an added advantage.
