TIDE designs and implements scalable, impact-driven programs in collaboration with government institutions, corporate partners, and local communities. The organisation emphasizes long-term sustainability by integrating technology, behaviour change, and capacity building into its interventions.

Role Overview
The Project Accountant will be responsible for end-to-end financial management of Germanfunded projects, ensuring strict adherence to donor guidelines, NGO accounting standards, and statutory compliance. The role requires strong expertise in project accounting, procurement processes, financial reporting, and audit readiness, with a high level of accuracy and documentation discipline.

Key Responsibilities
1. Project Financial Management
• Develop, review, and manage detailed project budgets in alignment with donorapproved proposals
• Monitor expenditures against budgets and ensure optimal utilization of funds
• Ensure accurate project-wise cost allocation and financial tracking
• Flag financial risks, deviations, and under/over-utilization proactively

2. Accounting & Bookkeeping
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project-wise books of accounts in line with NGO accounting standards
• Process invoices, vendor payments, staff reimbursements, and advances
• Perform bank reconciliations, ledger scrutiny, and account closures
• Ensure proper classification of expenses as per donor budget heads

3. Donor Reporting & Financial Analysis
• Prepare periodic financial reports (monthly/quarterly/annual) as per donor guidelines
• Support preparation of utilization certificates, fund statements, and donor-specific reports
• Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights to program teams
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of all donor financial reports

4. Compliance & Audit
• Ensure full compliance with donor requirements, internal financial policies, and statutory regulations
• Maintain robust documentation and audit trails for all financial transactions
• Support internal, external, and donor audits with complete documentation
• Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, and other statutory requirements

5. Procurement & Contract Management
• Ensure procurement processes align with donor guidelines and organizational policies
• Review and validate Requests for Proposals (RFPs) with clear financial and compliance parameters
• Prepare and manage bid evaluation sheets (technical & financial)
• Participate in vendor selection and provide comparative financial analysis
• Draft and review contracts, MoUs, and agreements in coordination with program and legal teams
• Monitor contract compliance, payment milestones, and deliverables
• Maintain complete procurement documentation and audit-ready records

6. Fund & Cash Flow Management
• Track fund utilization and ensure availability for project activities
• Support cash flow planning, forecasting, and fund requests
• Monitor advances and ensure timely settlements

7. Coordination & Project Support
• Work closely with project teams to align financial planning with implementation
• Provide financial inputs for project design, budgeting, and procurement planning
• Coordinate with vendors, consultants, auditors, and stakeholders
• Support overall project documentation and compliance requirements

Qualification & Experience
• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Commerce or Finance (B.Com. / M.Com. / equivalent) • 2-5 years of experience in NGO/project accounting, preferably in donor-funded projects
• Prior experience handling international donor projects.

Skills & Competencies
• Strong knowledge of NGO accounting and donor compliance frameworks
• Expertise in procurement processes, bid evaluation, and contract management
• Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced functions, financial templates) and accounting software, Tally and WINPAACS
• Solid understanding of GST, TDS, and statutory compliance
• High attention to detail, documentation rigor, and audit preparedness
• Strong analytical, coordination, and communication skills
