Sr. Associate – Ekam Pragati & Unnati (Education Support Programs)
Location: Mumbai (Local candidates only)
Monthly Remuneration:
Up to Rs.35,000/- (Commensurate with experience and qualifications)
Ekam Foundation Mumbai is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving access to affordable healthcare and education for children across India. With a presence in 23 states and impacting thousands of children annually, the foundation works to empower underprivileged children through targeted interventions in health and education.
Ekam Pragati is an academic support program that provides financial aid to underresourced yet meritorious school students from standards 6th to 12th. The program recognizes their drive, dedication, and desire to succeed by covering school tuition fees either partially (75%) or fully (100%). Since its inception, Ekam Pragati has supported 1000+ students annually, with a 99% pass rate and an average of 73% marks scored across 156 schools in 23 states.
Ekam Unnati is a one-time scholarship program focused on empowering bright and ambitious girl students from low socioeconomic backgrounds in higher education, especially in professional courses like Engineering, Nursing, Medicine, BBA, and Management. The program provides financial scholarships, mentorship, and career guidance to help recipients complete their graduation and build independent, dignified futures. Unnati aims to break the cycle of poverty and gender inequality by investing in girls' education.
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sr. Associate to support our Ekam Pragati & Unnati Education Programs. The ideal candidate will take ownership of student documentation, coordination with schools and educational institutions, follow-up visits, academic progress tracking, mentorship support, and success story creation, ensuring seamless support to students pursuing their educational aspirations.
- Maintain complete documentation for each student case including application forms, academic records, financial documents, fee receipts, and progress reports.
- Ensure accuracy and timely updating of the Pragati & Unnati program database and physical records.
- Maintain funder-wise tracking sheets for both Pragati and Unnati programs.
- Track student academic performance through report cards and progress assessments.
- Coordinate closely with school principals, teachers, and educational institutions for timely student referrals and enrollment.
- Follow up regularly with students, families, and institutions to ensure all documentation is in place throughout the academic year.
- Assist in scheduling and tracking scholarship disbursements, fee payments, and academic milestones.
- Liaise with mentors and career counselors under the Ekam Saarthi program for student guidance.
- Conduct regular check-ins with students to monitor academic progress, attendance, and overall well-being.
- Facilitate mentorship sessions and career counseling for high school students and those in professional courses.
- Identify students requiring supplementary support such as tablets, laptops, or additional tuition assistance.
- Provide guidance to students and families on educational opportunities and scholarship renewals.
- Submit daily updates to the reporting manager regarding data collected, student progress, and narrative reports.
- Prepare 5 high-quality success stories each month, showcasing impact across various funding partners, complete with photographs and student quotes.
- Document student achievements, testimonials, and long-term outcomes for impact reporting.
- Conduct 4 home visits per month for in-depth case story collection, family follow-up checks, and capturing photographs.
- Conduct 4 school/college visits monthly to:
- Follow up on pending documentation or academic records.
- Monitor student attendance and academic performance.
- Strengthen relationships with teachers, principals, and institutional staff.
- Verify scholarship utilization and fee payment status.
- Maintain and update Excel trackers, and when required by the organization.
- funder reports, and related MIS systems as per program needs.
- Prepare periodic reports for internal review and donor communications.

- Minimum Post Graduate in Social Work / Education / Sociology / Public Policy / Development Studies / any relevant field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in education programs, scholarship management, or nonprofit sectors.
- Strong documentation and written communication skills (English, Hindi, and Marathi).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
- Comfortable with field travel within and outside Mumbai (school, college, and home visits).
- Good interpersonal skills to coordinate with multiple stakeholders including schools, educational institutions, students, families, and mentors.
- Passion for education and empowering underprivileged children and youth.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Prior experience working with educational NGOs or scholarship programs.
- Understanding of the Indian education system, especially middle school, high school, and professional courses.
- Experience in student counseling or mentorship programs.
- Familiarity with database management and MIS reporting tools.
- Full-time position (Monday to Friday)
- Field visits are mandatory as per monthly targets
- Occasional weekend work may be required during peak admission or reporting periods
