1. About ChildFund India
ChildFund India is an Indian-registered NGO established in 1984, working with children, youth, and families from marginalized communities across India. ChildFund India delivers integrated, life-stage programming supporting children from early childhood (0 years) through young adulthood (24 years), working closely with children, young adults, families, community institutions, and government systems. We have over 40 years of continuous field presence in underserved geographies, strong community institutional base and government alignment, and demonstrated capacity to manage multi-state, multi-sector initiatives, enabling us to deliver accountable and measurable social impact.
As ChildFund strengthens its national positioning and resource mobilization, this consultancy aims for comprehensive market and context analysis to identify funding opportunities across individual giving (HNIs, SSC), digital platforms, CSR, institutional donors, government schemes, do institutional SWOT in reference to Fundraising and support in development of a sustainable Business Development and Fundraising Strategy, focused on:
- CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility)
- HNI / Family Philanthropy
- Individual Fundraising (IFR)
2. Purpose of the Assignment
The purpose of this consultancy is to:
- Conduct a comprehensive market analysis to map the CSR / Foundation/ Family Philanthropy space
- To assess institutional readiness, gaps, opportunities, and donor engagement pathways.
- Support building a 3-year Fundraising Strategy & Roadmap across CSR, HNI, and Individual Giving channels.
- Translate strategy into a 3-year fundraising actionable roadmap and operational plan
- Provide actionable guidance to improve positioning, value propositions, donor messaging, and BD processes
- Develop compelling donor narratives based on researched donor motivations and barriers (“sticking points”).
3. Scope of Work
A. Diagnostic Assessment
The consultant will undertake a structured diagnostic review of ChildFund India’s current fundraising and BD function, including:
- Review of fundraising performance, systems, processes & governance.
- Assessment of donor materials, proposals, decks, digital assets, and pitch readiness.
- Identification of strengths, gaps, risks, and opportunities.
- Assessment of ChildFund’s market positioning and competitiveness across CSR, HNI, and Individual Giving.
- Review of digital readiness (CRM, donor journeys, communication tools) for IFR.
