Contract Type: Short-term consultancy contract
Duration: 1 April 2026 – 30 June 2026 (approx. 3.5 days per site)
Assessment Locations: 6 sites in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Telangana

Nature of Consultancy
An independent targeted risk assessment will be conducted in the animal fat supply chain across the mentioned states. The objective is to identify gaps in the protection and promotion of child rights, while exploring opportunities to improve the wellbeing of workers and their children.

External consultants will support the lead assessor in conducting fieldwork. The role involves data collection through site walkthroughs, focus group discussions (FGDs), interviews, surveys, and other relevant activities.

Key Responsibilities
• Participate in data collection training and logistical briefing.
• Conduct site walkthroughs to assess facility management systems, working conditions, and living arrangements of workers.
• Collect data through FGDs, interviews, and surveys to understand the situation of workers and their children.
• Complete required documentation, including walkthrough checklists, FGD and interview notes, survey data, photos, videos, and audio recordings (with participant consent).

Deliverables
• Transcribed notes of all interviews and FGDs using the designated template.
• Successful upload of all surveys to the designated platform.
• Completed site walkthrough checklists, as required.

Candidate Profile
• Prior experience in conducting social audits or assessments, particularly covering health and safety.
• Strong understanding of national laws related to labour, child rights, and workplace safety.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Remuneration
Consultants will be paid a fixed daily rate. Applicants are requested to mention their expected daily rate in the application.

Transportation and accommodation expenses incurred during the assessment will be covered as per actuals. Consultants remain responsible for personal expenses such as meals and medical costs.
