Job Summary:
NIUA is seeking a creative, detail-driven Design Associate / Senior Design Associate to join our creative team. The role plays a key part in shaping how complex urban planning, infrastructure, sustainability, and public-sector initiatives are communicated to diverse stakeholders including government bodies, partners and the public.
The incumbent will be responsible for conceptualizing and delivering high-quality visual communication that supports project objectives, branding, and outreach efforts across print and digital platforms. The role requires strong creative judgment, adaptability, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary projects and teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conceptualize, design, and execute creative visuals for print and digital platforms including reports, books, journals, brochures, infographics, presentations, event materials, branding assets, social media creatives, and website graphics
• Translate briefs, communication objectives, and content into clear, engaging, and effective visual design solutions
• Work closely with project teams to ensure design outputs align with defined goals, timelines, and stakeholder requirements
• Ensure consistency in visual identity, typography, color palettes, layouts, and overall design language across all communication materials
• Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines, priorities, and quality standards
• Review and refine design outputs based on feedback and evolving project needs
• Prepare final artwork for print and digital production, ensuring technical accuracy and quality control
• Maintain an organized design asset repository, version control, and proper documentation
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
• Graduate in any discipline, with Diploma in Graphic Design or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in graphic design, with strong exposure to print media
• Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end design projects from concept through final execution
• Strong portfolio showcasing visual storytelling, design clarity, and versatility across formats
Desirable:
• Graduate in Design or Visual Communication or related field.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and handling stakeholder feedback
Key Skills & Competencies:
Essential:
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
• Strong understanding of typography, layout systems, color theory, and visual storytelling, etc
• Proven experience designing for print and digital formats including reports, books, presentations, social media creatives, web graphics, large-format materials
• Ability to create custom icons, infographics, and visual assets
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on design quality and consistency
• Collaboration and time-management skills
• Ability to work efficiently under tight timelines and manage multiple priorities
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Desirable:
• Experience with motion graphics and video editing tools such as Premiere Pro and After Effects
• Working knowledge of Adobe Express / Canva, Adobe XD / Figma, and MS Office tools (especially PowerPoint)
• Basic understanding of UI principles, digital platforms, and web concepts
• Familiarity with social media platforms, digital content formats, and content optimization practices
