Chhattisgarh Agricon Samiti (CAS) is a non-governmental organization that is registered under the Societies Registration Act (1973). The organization works with more than 75000 families across 15 districts in Chhattisgarh. Agricon is dedicated to ensuring agriculture-based livelihood support for poor and marginalized people, with nearly three-quarters of the families belonging to Schedule Tribes. They are currently expanding their activities in remote areas of tribal districts.
Job Title: District Coordinator

Type: Full-time, on-site in Bastar District Chhattisgarh
Role Description:
The District Coordinator (DC) is responsible for the effective implementation of projects and programs in Bastar district. With a focus on community development, agriculture, and mental health, the DC will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the achievement of organizational goals. The role also involves event management, mental health training, and operations at the district level.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Implementation:
- Oversee the implementation of all district-level programs, including agriculture, mental health initiatives, and other community development projects.
- Ensure all projects are executed according to plan, with timely reporting on key outcomes and challenges.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Foster relationships with local government agencies, community groups, and NGOs to support project objectives.
- Conduct community meetings, training workshops, and mental health awareness sessions to enhance stakeholder involvement and well-being.
Mental Health Training and Support:
- Facilitate training programs for community members and stakeholders on mental health, with a focus on psychosocial support and emotional well-being.
- Coordinate with the organizational mental health team to roll out initiatives such as the 'Mann Mitra' program and Well-Being Centres.
Operations and Event Management:
- Manage district-level operations, including logistics, administration, and financial planning.
- Organize and coordinate district-level events such as workshops, training sessions, and awareness campaigns, ensuring smooth execution and impactful outcomes.
Data Management and Reporting:
- Collect, analyse, and manage data related to project activities and the community's needs.
- Provide accurate and timely reports to the management on progress, challenges, and key outcomes.
Team Management:
- Supervise field staff and provide mentorship to improve their performance and professional growth.
- Ensure the team is equipped with the skills required for effective project implementation, including mental health awareness.
Capacity Building:
- Identify community training needs and develop programs to meet those needs, particularly in agriculture, social behaviour change, and mental health.
- Promote best practices in sustainability, agricultural integration, and mental health care.
Financial Management:
- Collaborate in budget preparation and financial planning at the district level.
- Monitor district expenditures and ensure cost-effective project management practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Development Studies, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience: At least relevant experience in project management, community development, mental health initiatives, or related areas, with exposure to district-level operations and event management.
Skills:
- Knowledge of mental health practices, with experience in training or facilitation in psychosocial support.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in data analysis and project reporting.
- Familiarity with local agricultural practices and community dynamics in Chhattisgarh.
- Event management and logistical planning skills.
Additional Requirements:
Language: Preference will be given to candidates with local language proficiency
(Chhattisgarhi or other local dialects) and cultural understanding of Bastar and surrounding areas.

Reporting Line
He/she will report directly to the Program Coordinator.
