MelJol works with children and youth from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, particularly in government and community schools. Through participatory and activity-based learning methods, it builds life skills, social awareness, and financial literacy among young people.

Its programs aim to equip young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to make informed decisions, understand social and financial equity, and contribute to building more inclusive and resilient communities.

Job Summary
The Senior Accounts cum Admin Officer will support the organisation’s finance and administrative functions by maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with statutory and donor requirements, managing documentation, and coordinating administrative processes. The role requires strong attention to detail, sound accounting knowledge, and the ability to coordinate effectively with finance, program, and administrative teams.

Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Financial Record Management
• Maintain accurate books of accounts in accounting software (Tally or equivalent).
• Record and verify financial transactions including receipts, payments, and journal entries.
• Maintain organised financial records, vouchers, invoices, and supporting documentation.

2. Payments, Banking & Cash Management
• Process vendor payments, reimbursements, and expense claims after verifying supporting documents.
• Prepare bank reconciliation statements and monitor petty cash records.
• Maintain banking documentation and support routine banking transactions.

3. Advances, Financial Reporting & Documentation
• Monitor advances issued for project activities and ensure timely settlement.
• Compile financial information required for internal and donor reporting.
• Support preparation of utilisation certificates and financial statements.

4. Audit, Compliance & Procurement Documentation
• Maintain financial documentation required for statutory, internal, and donor audits.
• Support compliance with regulatory and organisational financial procedures.
• Maintain procurement documentation including quotations, approvals, and comparative statements.

5. Administrative & Asset Management Support
• Maintain and update the organisation’s asset register and support periodic verification.
• Support office administration, vendor coordination, and documentation related to finance and operations.
• Maintain administrative records and ensure proper documentation of office processes.

Qualifications & Experience
• B.Com / M.Com or equivalent qualification in Accounting or Finance.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in finance, accounts, and administrative functions.
• Experience working in the NGO or development sector will be an advantage.

Key Skills & Competencies
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial documentation
• Proficiency in Tally, MS Excel, and MS Office
• Understanding of NGO financial documentation and audit requirements
• Strong organisational and documentation skills
• Ability to coordinate with multiple teams and stakeholders
• Attention to detail and accuracy

Salary: 3,24,000 to 4,20,000 P.A
