JOB MISSION: Overall Case Management of the TARA Family Intervention Program
JOB SCOPE: TARA’s Family Intervention (TFI) is a targeted program designed to strengthen at-risk families, enabling them to avoid the separation of children from their families. It aims to address needs of the families systematically and dynamically, by designing interventions tailored to each family's requirement, to prevent further trauma by addressing the underlying issues leading to family separation.
PRIME OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible to provide direct support to families of TFI. The role focuses on building trusting relationships with families, implementing care plans, and supporting the safety and well-being of children.
Deliver family-based interventions, monitor progress, and strengthen parenting and life skills under the supervision of the Case Worker.
Manage the cases of families requiring intervention.
Conduct home visits and initial family assessments under supervision.
Assist families in developing and implementing individualised family care and safety plans.
Provide parenting support, counselling, and linkage to community services such as health, education, and livelihood programs.
Identify and report risks or safeguarding concerns to the Line Manager promptly.
Maintain detailed, accurate, and timely case notes and reports.
Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, and training sessions.
Provide support in the group meetings, workshops, and community events.
Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards in all interactions with families and partners.
Responsible to make day-to-day, weekly & monthly plans of the program and get it approved from the Line Manager.
Seek guidance from the Senior Case Worker for complex or high-risk issues.
Work closely with families, community organisations, and service partners.
Conduct regular home visits with fieldworker/Caseworker based on the care plan and need of the family.
Provide field related data to the caseworker that can be useful and crucial in building case studies.
Help families understand their care plans and provide guidance in following next steps.
Assist families in accessing services.
Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, interaction logs.
Support the caseworker in maintaining updated family records in Airtable and program files.
Ensure all observations from the field is recorded accurately and promptly.
Work closely with Fieldworker and the Senior Caseworker in identifying family needs.
Facilitate family meetings, sessions and family engagement activities.
To provide support, and facilitate better access to information, opportunities, and resources to the families.

Provide information, referral, and linkage services required by the families.

Support the families to obtain required documents from the government (Birth Certificate, Aadhar Card, Ration Card, etc.)

Maintain confidentiality within legal and professional boundaries

Demonstrate an ethical attitude and act with professional authority when required

Prepare and maintain proper care plans for each child/family.

Maintain good rapport and collaboration with various stakeholders (schools, Anganwadi centres, NGOs, police stations, CWC, DCPU, Organisations working for children, women, livelihood, substance abuse, violence, legal cases, health care institutes, etc) for referral and linkage services.

Maintain proper documentation of all case files, family visits CWC, and other legal requirements in the Airtable.

To ensure that Child Protection Policy and other policies are implemented fully at all times.

Demonstrate respect and promote dignity and respect for the families.

Attend the Individual Meetings with the Line Manager, staff meetings, and community meetings. Record the minutes. Prepare QPR reports and produce cases before the CWC.

To be available and approachable to the families of the program
To foster effective teamwork between TARA Associates

HUMAN RESOURCES

Comply with the human resources policies, procedures, and practices
Ensure that a positive, healthy, and safe work environment in accordance with all appropriate legislation and regulations
Coach and mentor the Field Worker as appropriate to improve performance

TRAINING
To undergo induction at TARA
To attend training in TARA and outside TARA related to the job profile.

FINANCIAL
Participate in fundraising activities as appropriate.
Ensure that accounting procedures are followed
Administer the funds according to the approved budget

OUTSIDE AGENCIES

Represent TARA to other NGOs and agencies
Respond to CWC, DCPU, and court summons
Foster positive neighborhood relations
Provide support and supervision to the Field Worker when attending court, CWC, and DWCD.
Actively initiate and collaborate with various stakeholders.

RISK MANAGEMENT
Identify and evaluate the risks to the families, associates, property, finances, goodwill, and image.
Implement measures to control risks with the approval of the Head of, the Family-Based Program.
Report any shortcomings or concerns to the Line Manager.

PROFILE QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree/Master’s degree/diploma in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or related field.
0–3 years of experience in child care/ family support/ community services.
Understanding of child development, family functioning, and basic counselling principles.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Fluency in English and Hindi.

Knowledge of child protection policies, child and family welfare, and risk management.

Ability to have critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to assess multiple and complex situations.
Knowledge of social service systems, legal services, community resources, and relevant regulations.
Strong verbal communication in Hindi and good documentation and report-writing skills in English.
Sensitivity to diverse populations and cultural diversity.
Ability to respond to family emergencies and crisis
WORKING DAYS:
6 days a week (Monday to Friday), 8 hours a day
