Job Purpose

To deliver the SAKSHAM project outcomes through a systems-strengthening approach. The role focuses on integrating primary eye care into public health systems, improving service delivery, strengthening referral pathways and ensuring sustainable reduction of avoidable blindness.

Organization

The position of Disrict Project Manager reports to the Programme Manager, India. He/she will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the entire project in the district. This includes planning, coordinating, and monitoring all project activities to ensure the effective delivery of eye health services and community outreach. The DPM will work closely with block coordinators, healthcare providers, government officials, and community organizations to achieve the project objectives. The DPM will network with a wide range of stakeholders to promote and help achieve Operation Eyesight India’s vision for the district. The project will be implemented in collaboration with the government health department and networking with other key stakeholders such as Panchayati Raj Institutions and State Rural Livelihood Mission.

Qualifications/Knowledge and Experience

Graduation/ PG qualification in public health, rural management, social work or related field.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in project coordination or management, preferably in the health sector or with community-based projects

Knowledge of project cycle management, monitoring, MIS and resource utilization.

Working Conditions and Job Requirements

The candidate will be based at either at any field location.

The candidate will have to undertake frequent travel to project locations

The candidate will be required to work extended hours to accommodate different time zones

The candidate will act as an ambassador for OE in a variety of professional and social settings
