Position: Associate Finance Officer
Location: Majuli, Assam
Joining: Immediate, by the third week of April 2026.
CTC: Up to 50k/month, based on skills and experience.

The Opportunity:
We are seeking a full-time Associate Finance Officer to join the finance team at Ayang Trust. This role is essential to supporting and strengthening the day-to-day financial operations of the organization. The Associate Finance Officer will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure transparency, accuracy, and efficiency in financial processes. It is well-suited for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and interested in strengthening their skills in nonprofit financial management within a supportive team environment.

Key Expectations:
Record and maintain day-to-day financial transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
Handle petty cash disbursements and ensure proper tracking and reconciliation of expenses.
Verify and process bills, ensuring all invoices are supported by appropriate documentation and approvals.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including monthly expense statements, budget tracking, and variance analysis.
Manage and process staff salaries, stipends, and consultant payments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Handle statutory deductions, including TDS, PF, ESIC, and other applicable taxes, ensuring timely deposits and compliance with regulations.
Support the preparation and filing of statutory returns and ensure adherence to all financial and legal compliance requirements.
Assist the finance team during internal and external audits by preparing documentation and ensuring compliance.
Liaise with vendors to resolve billing discrepancies, process payments, and maintain strong financial relationships.
Maintain well-organized financial records, both physical and digital, in line with organizational and legal standards.
Ensure accurate and consistent entry of vouchers in accounting software, with proper classification and referencing.
Monitor budget utilization and flag any discrepancies or deviations for timely review.
Support bank reconciliations and ensure accurate tracking of all bank transactions.
Coordinate with program teams to align financial processes with project requirements and reporting timelines.
Assist in financial planning, forecasting, and cash flow management.
Ensure adherence to internal financial policies, controls, and approval processes.

Desired qualification and competencies:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
3-5 years of prior experience in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping (preferred).
Proficiency in Tally and MS Office applications.
Strong attention to detail, with good organizational and documentation skills.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
A proactive, responsible, and ethical approach to financial work.
