Position Title : Program Officer (2 positions)

About the organisation: Sasakawa-India Leprosy Foundation (S-ILF) was established in 2006 by Mr Yohei Sasakawa of Japan (who is the WHO Goodwill Ambassador for Leprosy elimination & the recipient of the prestigious Gandhi Peace Prize 2018). S-ILF works towards mainstreaming persons affected by Leprosy & their families through socio-economic empowerment, thereby fighting stigma & restoring dignity in the lives of those affected by the disease.
About the role: Program Officer will support the Regional Managers (RM) in day-to-day activities of the region. S/he will support the RM in development and management of livelihood & education programmes through monitoring, evaluation & learning (MEAL); grant management; and establishing and maintaining effective communication with external and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
Program Planning and Management
- Facilitate baseline, need assessment and development of the proposal
- Manage a team of Field Coordinators at the field level
- Build rapport with the APAL State & Colony leaders
- Facilitate capacity building training to community leaders and state program team
- Undertake field visits, analyse the project’s progress and develop follow up actions
- Conduct research to track livelihood sector developments, interventions of other actors and potential project opportunities
- Support the RM in preparation of thematic presentations and narrative reports for external stakeholders
- Facilitate workshops, and outreach meetings with key stakeholders
Education & Experience: Master’s degree in social work/Sociology/Economics or any other relevant discipline. At least two-year experience of working in any NGO and managing projects independently.
Languages: The candidate must be fluent in English, Hindi & the local language of the working states for which he/she is applying.
Salary and benefits: S-ILF offers unique opportunities for challenging, effective, and rewarding work. The salary for this position is Rs 40,000.00 per month (non-negotiable)
