1. Position Overview
The Program Manager will lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the Breathing Easy program at the block level. The role involves end-to-end ownership of program delivery, including team management, stakeholder coordination, quality assurance, and achievement of program targets to ensure sustained adoption of improved smokeless chullahs.
2. Program Planning & Implementation
Develop block-level implementation plans, timelines, and targets
Ensure effective execution of all field activities in alignment with project goals
Oversee village coverage, beneficiary identification, and installation planning
Ensure timely and efficient rollout of chullah installations across locations
3. Team & Technician Management
Recruit, onboard, and supervise field staff and technicians
Allocate work, monitor daily performance, and ensure accountability
Provide on-ground guidance and problem-solving support to teams
Ensure proper coordination between field teams, technicians, and communities
4. Community Engagement & Demand Generation
Design and oversee community mobilization strategies
Ensure awareness on health, environmental, and social benefits of smokeless chullahs
Strengthen community participation and ownership of the program
Address barriers to adoption and ensure sustained usage
5. Supply Chain & Operations Management
Ensure timely procurement and availability of required materials and tools
Oversee logistics, transportation, and distribution to beneficiary households
Monitor efficient use of resources and minimize delays in implementation
Ensure site readiness and proper planning for installations
6. Quality Assurance & Technical Oversight
Ensure installations meet defined quality and safety standards
Supervise proper chimney fabrication and installation
Conduct periodic field visits for quality checks and troubleshooting
Establish systems for repair, maintenance, and post-installation support
7. Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation
Track program progress against targets and timelines
Ensure accurate and timely data collection and reporting
Support monitoring and evaluation activities and field validations
Document key learnings, challenges, and best practices
Capture and maintain photographs and videos of field activities, installations, and beneficiary usage for reporting and documentation purposes
8. Stakeholder Coordination & Representation
Liaise with local stakeholders, community leaders, and partners
Represent the organization at block-level meetings and forums
Ensure alignment with local governance structures where required
9. General Responsibility
The Program Manager will undertake any additional responsibilities required for the successful implementation and scale-up of the project as needed.
