Society for Agriculture Health Environment Literacy Innovations (SAHELI) is a women led not-for-profit organisation working in Mayurbhanj and Balasore districts of Odisha working for gender empowerment and for a society where gender justice prevails. There is a vacancy for Project Coordinator for stopping child marriage and reducing gender-based violence (domestic violence against women)

The location of the project is the entire area of Baripada CD Block of Mayurbhanj district, Odisha. The position is placed in the office in Baripada town and it requires extensive travel to 85 villages in 11 Gram Panchayats of Baripada Block as well as frequent visits to the head office of SAHELI in Basta.

Expected Roles

• Be responsible for managing the project activities
• Guide and support the functioning of three Field Organisers
• Lead implementation of field operations
• Liaise with all secondary stakeholders
• Compile and analyse reports from the Field Organisers and maintain proper documentation of all project activities
• Maintain financial management of the project
• Undertake all activities relevant for the project
Track progress and monitoring the project activities

The position reports to the Director of SAHELI and the three Field Orginsers will report to the Project Coordinator

Person expectation

• Postgraduate in Social Work or any other discipline of Social Science
• Minimum three years of experience preferably in community mobilisation activities
• Experience in working with human rights in general and in defending gender rights is highly preferred
• Willingness to undertake extensive field visits is essential
• Persons from Baripada is preferred
• If not, relocation to Baripada is essential
• Ability to write and speak in Odia and English is essential and that in Hindi is preferred
• Proficiency in using software packages like MS Office and Internet Explorer is essential

Remuneration shall commensurate with qualification and experience
