REACH is a non-profit organisation working on Tuberculosis and Non-Communicable Diseases, headquartered in Chennai. Established in 1999, REACH is currently implementing multiple projects across the country.
REACH is looking to recruit a Technical officer to provide programme implementation support for its project. The ideal candidate is a medical doctor/dentist (MBBS/BDS)/ Allied Health Sciences degree, with a postgraduate degree in Public Health, Community Medicine, MBA (Health care management) etc., who is looking for an opportunity to gain experience in TB programme implementation and management, strategic thinking, digital service delivery, engagement of private sector & professional medical associations for public health action etc.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Facilitating establishment of TPT (TB Preventive Therapy) clinics in the private sector as service delivery hubs for TB patients and families.
- Coordination with state and district health officials, and the TB programme stakeholders at state/district/sub-district level.
- Recruitment and capacity building of TB care coordinators for positioning at TPT clinics for service delivery.
- Undertaking regular field monitoring visits to private facilities and expanding uptake of TB preventive uptake in the private sector.
- Coordination with Professional medical associations such as IAP, IMA, FOGSI, Respiratory society etc. to gain support for TPT expansion
- Conducting upskilling/one-to-one sensitisation of private providers on project and TPT updates.
- Implementation of digital service delivery tools for improving TPT uptake and adherence.
- Logistics planning including empanelment of private labs, coordination with NTEP for diagnostics and drugs.
- Conducting capacity building sessions for project staff as required
- Conducting regular meeting with district teams and review progress of project and support as per needs of project
- Undertaking regular visits to various health facilities and TPT clinics for supportive supervision of teams.
- Ensuring accurate and comprehensive documentation of all project activities and its submission as per timelines.
- Representing REACH at state-level and other meetings as assigned
- Any other responsibilities assigned by the organisation.
Qualifications, Experience and competencies required:
- The ideal candidate has an MBBS or BDS or Allied Health Sciences degree with a postgraduate degree in Public Health, Community Medicine, MPH, MBA (Health care management) etc. and minimum one year of experience working in public health
- Alternatively, MBBS with experience of working with NTEP programme or clinical experience of treating communicable diseases for atleast 2 years.
- Good understanding of the public health system and private sector in India and ability to work closely with both public and private sector.
- Experience in working on TB and /or private sector would be an advantage
- Exemplary analytical, verbal and interpersonal communications skills.
- Excellent skills in MS Office, online reporting tools- KoBo toolbox, and other relevant software
- Ability to effectively manage relationships and coordinate with a pan-India team based at different locations.
- Ability to use tact and diplomacy with all sensitive issues and special situations.
- High ethical standards and transparent working style
- Ability to read and write fluently in local language (Hindi/Tamil) and English
- Willingness to travel extensively within state for an average of two weeks every month (Madurai, Coimbatore and Chennai districts in Tamil Nadu and within Delhi)
