MAMTA Health Institute for Mother and Child (MAMTA–HIMC) is a national level not-for-profit organization working across 20 states through direct implementation, capacity building, evidence generation, and partnerships with government bodies, corporate CSR, academic institutions, and development agencies. The organization focuses on improving socio-developmental outcomes through education, health, and community-based interventions.
Project Overview
The STEM Education Program aims to promote 21st-century learning by strengthening Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education in government schools. The project focuses on establishing STEM labs, fostering hands-on learning, introducing robotics/AI-based STEM modules, and developing peer educators/ student innovation clubs. The program encourages inquiry-based pedagogy, problem-solving, design thinking, and innovation among students.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate with District/Block Education Officials, school principals, STEM teachers, and project partners to ensure smooth implementation.
• Conduct day-to-day follow-ups with assigned schools, teachers, and STEM trainers to ensure activity milestones are met.
• Facilitate STEM activities such as Robotics workshops, tinkering lab sessions, model-making, and coding clubs.
• Engage students in forming/activating STEM Innovation Clubs / Student Leader Groups (peer educators).
• Conduct school visits to monitor classroom integration of STEM concepts, hands-on activities, and project-based learning.
• Provide training and handholding support to teachers on STEM pedagogy, activity planning, and usage of STEM lab tools.
• Organize STEM fairs/exhibitions at school and block levels to showcase student-led innovations and STEM models.
• Coordinate with vendor’s/service providers to set up STEM labs, ensure equipment installation and maintenance.
• Ensure timely documentation including activity reports, STEM progress tracking, case studies, student impact stories, presentations.
• Support digital data collection, monitoring dashboards, and periodic review meetings with the project team.
• Any other program-related task assigned by the line manager.
Qualifications and Competencies
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Engineering / Science / Social Work / Education / Public Management / Technology / Rural Development or equivalent.
(Strong interest in STEM, coding, robotics or school education is an added advantage.)
Work Experience:
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in school programs, STEM education, EdTech projects, CSR-funded education projects or community mobilization.
• Experience working with schools, teachers, and adolescents.
• Experience in NGO/INGO / CSR education projects is preferred.
Skills Required:
• Strong communication, coordination, and training skills.
• Ability to engage students, facilitate hands-on STEM activities, and support teachers.
• Good documentation, reporting, and MIS skills.
• Problem-solving ability, stakeholder management, and a growth mindset.
