About the Project
Sabuj Sangha, with support from L&T Finance, is implementing an Integrated Community Development Project in Purba Bardhaman district focusing on Digital Financial Literacy and Financial Inclusion, Water Sovereignty, Climate Smart Villages, livelihood enhancement, and community institution strengthening. The project aims to empower rural communities through sustainable development approaches, climate resilience, improved access to financial services, and community-led resource management.
Job Summary
Sabuj Sangha is seeking a qualified and experienced Water Shed Expert to provide technical leadership for the implementation of watershed and water resource management interventions under the Water Sovereignty Project. The selected candidate will support hydrogeological assessments, water resource planning, GIS mapping, and preparation of technical project reports and DPRs in coordination with field teams and community stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct hydrogeological surveys, aquifer mapping, and watershed assessments
• Prepare village water audits and technical baseline assessments
• Support planning and implementation of watershed and groundwater recharge activities
• Develop and maintain GIS-based databases and project mapping systems
• Prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), technical proposals, and project documentation
• Provide technical guidance to field teams and community stakeholders
• Coordinate with local government departments, technical agencies, and project partners
• Monitor progress of water resource management activities and prepare technical reports
• Facilitate capacity-building and awareness programmes related to water conservation
• Ensure compliance with project guidelines, environmental standards, and donor requirements
• Any other responsibilities assigned by the management
Eligibility Criteria
• Bachelor’s Degree in Water Resources Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or allied disciplines from a recognized University
• Minimum 4–6 years of relevant experience in watershed development, hydrogeology, or water resource management projects
• Practical experience in hydrogeological surveys, aquifer mapping, GIS applications, and village water audits
• Experience in preparing DPRs and technical project reports
• Knowledge of watershed planning, groundwater recharge, and community-based water management approaches
• Proficiency in MS Office, GIS software, and technical documentation
• Strong analytical, coordination, and communication skills
• Willingness to travel extensively within project locations
• Preference will be given to candidates having experience in NGO/CSR or rural development projects
