About the Project
Sabuj Sangha, with support from L&T Finance, is implementing an Integrated Community Development Project in Purba Bardhaman district focusing on Digital Financial Literacy and Financial Inclusion, Water Sovereignty, Climate Smart Villages, livelihood enhancement, and community institution strengthening. The project aims to empower rural communities through sustainable development approaches, climate resilience, improved access to financial services, and community-led resource management.
Job Summary
Sabuj Sangha is seeking an experienced and motivated Agriculture Expert cum Convergence Officer to provide technical and field-level support for implementation of the Climate Smart Villages Initiative Project. The selected candidate will support promotion of sustainable agriculture practices, coordinate with farmers and government departments, establish Farmer Field Schools, and facilitate convergence with relevant agricultural schemes and services.
Key Responsibilities
• Support implementation of climate-smart agriculture and sustainable farming interventions
• Establish and facilitate Farmer Field Schools and demonstration plots
• Promote organic farming, vermi composting, and eco-friendly agricultural practices
• Support introduction of renewable energy solutions in agriculture such as solar irrigation systems
• Provide technical guidance to farmers on horticulture and improved agricultural practices
• Coordinate with agriculture departments, Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), and other stakeholders for convergence
• Facilitate linkage of farmers with government schemes, subsidies, and agricultural support services
• Conduct training programmes, awareness sessions, and field demonstrations
• Monitor field activities and maintain technical documentation and project reports
• Support preparation of monthly progress reports, case studies, and success stories
• Any other responsibilities assigned by the management
Eligibility Criteria
• Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Science, Horticulture, Agronomy, Rural Development, or allied agricultural disciplines from a recognized University
• Minimum 4–6 years of relevant experience in agriculture, climate-smart farming, or rural livelihood projects
• Practical experience in Farmer Field Schools, organic farming, vermi composting, and horticulture promotion
• Understanding of renewable energy applications in agriculture such as solar-based irrigation systems
• Experience in community mobilization and convergence with government agricultural schemes
• Good knowledge of sustainable agriculture practices and climate adaptation strategies
• Proficiency in MS Office and project documentation
• Strong communication, coordination, and field management skills
• Willingness to travel extensively within project locations
• Preference will be given to candidates having experience in NGO/CSR or community-based agriculture projects
