About Us
Basera Children's Village is a residential care home for girls run by Savera Homes Trust, committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for children in need.
About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Counsellor to provide psychological support and emotional care to the girls in our home. This is a fully residential post -- the selected candidate will live on campus and be an integral part of our care team.
Key Responsibilities

Provide individual and group counselling sessions to children in the home
Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop care plans for each child
Maintain confidential case records, session notes, and progress reports
Identify children requiring specialised intervention and coordinate referrals
Support children through trauma, transitions, grief, and behavioural challenges
Facilitate life skills, emotional wellbeing, and self-development programmes
Collaborate with House Mothers, care staff, and the Project Manager on child welfare matters
Coordinate with the Child Welfare Committee, DCPU, and external mental health professionals as needed
Participate in child protection reviews, case conferences, and statutory reporting

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Counselling (MSW / MA Psychology preferred)
Minimum 2 years of experience in counselling, preferably with children or in a residential care setting
Knowledge of child development, trauma-informed care, and child protection frameworks
Familiarity with JJ Act and CCI regulations is an advantage
Fluency in Kannada; working knowledge of English; Hindi is an asset
Female candidates preferred given the nature of the role
