Job Description
|
Position Summary
CKD is looking for eligible candidates for the position of Communications and Campaigns Lead for a large-scale maternal health and nutrition project. The Communications & Campaigns Lead. will support a government department in designing and implementing communication, awareness, and visibility campaigns. The role will focus on improving scheme awareness, strengthening citizen outreach, developing IEC/SBCC materials for community engagement, supporting media and social media engagement, and documenting key initiatives and achievements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support design and rollout of state and district-level communication campaigns for scheme awareness, public outreach, and behaviour change.
- Develop campaign concepts, key messages, communication plans, audience segmentation, and dissemination strategies.
- Prepare IEC/SBCC materials such as posters, leaflets, banners, FAQs, job aids, audio messages, short videos, social media creatives, press notes, and event collaterals.
- Support the government department with briefs, presentations, talking points, campaign notes, event notes, and visibility materials.
- Coordinate with IEC cells, government officials, creative agencies, media agencies, print vendors, AV teams, and field teams.
- Develop social media calendars, captions, infographics, reels, photo stories, newsletters, podcast and live show concepts and campaign updates.
- Support planning and documentation of launches, review meetings, awareness drives, public events, and special campaigns.
- Ensure branding, messaging, approvals, and visibility norms are followed across all communication materials.
- Capture and document case stories, field insights, testimonials, good practices, photographs, videos, and media coverage.
- Prepare periodic communication updates, campaign reports, visibility reports, and donor/government reporting inputs.

Qualification & Experience
|
Essential
- Postgraduate degree in Mass Communication, Development Communication, Advertising, Journalism, Public Health, Social Sciences, or related fields.
- 6–10 years of experience in communication, IEC/SBCC, public awareness campaigns, media, or development communication.
- Experience of working with government departments and senior bureaucrats on large-scale public programmes.
- Strong skills in content writing, message design, campaign planning, and stakeholder coordination.
- Experience in developing multi-channel campaigns across print, digital, social media, AV, and community platforms.
- Working knowledge of tools such as Canva, PowerPoint, basic video-editing tools, and social media platforms.
- Fluency in English and Odia (both written and verbal) essential
Desirable
- Strong understanding of the local context and prior experience working within the state.
- Experience working with government systems and coordinating with multiple stakeholders
- Good sectoral understanding of Maternal & Child Nutrition and Public Health programmes.
- Strong network with government-empaneled agencies and vendors, including IEC/creative agencies, media buying agencies, print and production vendors, and audio-visual service providers for public awareness campaigns and scheme roll-out.
- Understanding of SBCC approaches and field-level communication needs.
- Excellent writing, storytelling, and presentation skills

Contract Type and Period
|
This will be a fixed term contract.
The contract will be initially for a period of one year, extendable thereafter, based on performance. CKD is a fast-growing organization with a large portfolio of programmes across India and there could be opportunity for long term association for exceptionally good candidates on mutually agreed terms.

Compensation
|
The compensation package will be commensurate with qualification & experience and the last salary drawn.
