Trainer Capacity Building (Two Vacancies)  
Reporting to (Job Title):
Master Trainer - Capacity Building
Contract type:
Full time renewable two-year contract, including six months’ probation.
Salary:
Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Hours:
40 hours/week (Mon-Fri)
Location:
Ahmedabad 
Travel:
The job will involve frequent travel to project sites of Sense International India on a regular basis.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POST
 
In line with strategic plans and policy guidelines of Sense International India, the person will work with the team lead by Head - Capacity Building in planning, implementation, and evaluation of capacity building initiatives with project partners. S/he will also participate in and contribute towards development of wider institutional strategy.
 
PURPOSE OF POST
 
The position requires supporting partner organisations through training and skill building activities and Support to Children and Young Adults with Deafblindness and their Families’. The position also requires executing and building content, documentation, and monitoring quality of services at partner organisations.
 
A. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Identifying training needs of partner organisations through appropriate mechanism and regular consultation with partners and stakeholders
  • Develop, design and coordinate implementation of comprehensive training package for skill building of various stakeholders, including project partners, families, persons with deafblindness, allied professionals, etc.
  • Managing online learning management system (LMS) as per the course and batches
  • Follow up with partner organisations for the enrolment of candidates and also within the team for advertising the online courses
  • Managing schedule of the online sessions for the online course and follow up with faculties/speakers
  • Follow up with partners to measure the impact of various capacity building measures with required training, materials, literature, action plan and other partner support activities
  • Contribute to various publications, research, articles, and write-up on deafblindness and multiple disabilities.
  • Document and report changes among service users, their parents, educators/
  • field staff
  • Prepare annual training and event calendar for Sense International India based on both organisational and partner needs
  • Support in report writing by providing appropriate and timely information across the organisation
  • Maintain a data base of trainings and courses conducted and designed
  • Willingness to learn to communicate with persons with deafblindness and
  • multiple disabilities
  • Any other work as agreed with line manager
  • Understand, follow, and uphold Sense International India’s core values and all aspects of the organisational Safeguarding System  
B. PERSON SPECIFICATION:
  • Ideally a Graduate and having diploma or higher education background in the field of disability such as in Deafblindness, Visual Impairment, Hearing
  • Impairment, Intellectual Disability and Multiple Disabilities or any other disability Or,
  • Graduate and having diploma or higher education background in the field of Therapy (Physio/Occupational/Speech/ any other)
  • Should have prior experience of working with children and young adults with disabilities for minimum two years
  • Should have experience of organising trainings programmes in association with various stakeholders
  • Willing to travel to project locations in India
  • Able to analyse data and situations and adopt effective course of action
  • Relate and interact successfully with persons of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
  • Operate a computer and MS Office programs.
  • Takes initiative and offers new ideas
  • The successful candidate must meet Sense International India’s mandatory background checks to comply with the organisational Safeguarding System  
C. DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
  • Good interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels
  • Written and spoken communication skills in Hindi and English, knowledge of regional language will be added advantage
  • Problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • Able to manage time and meet deadlines
  • Able to facilitate groups
  • Good personal presentation
  • Personal commitment to improving one's own knowledge and skills
