CONTEXT
The Global Health and Humanitarian Medicine (GHHM) course is a part-time, online course. It is run by Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) to provide affordable, global access to high-quality education in Global Health.We’ve developed the course with international academics, MSF staff, clinicians and medical experts to provide outstanding teaching.Médecins Sans Frontieres, as a responsible employer, invites persons with disability with an interest in the humanitarian area to apply for the vacant position.
JOB PURPOSE
The key responsibility of this position is to coordinate implementation of the Global Health and Humanitarian Course in South Asia. The incumbent would be overall accountable for smooth implementation of the course in South Asia and be a valuable member of the GHHM team across the UK and South Asia contributing to the wider GHHM strategic direction.
MAIN FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic coordination of the course at the South Asia site
Act as the focal point for collaboration between the different stakeholders of the course. This includes but is not limited to:
Academic medical institutes of excellence (Christian Medical College – Vellore, Manipal Academy of Higher Education – Manipal, Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research - Puducherry.

- OCs Learning & Development departments (alongside the wider GHHM team)
Explore additional academic institutes for future collaborations ensuring equitable access to the participants in the region.
Finance and compliance
- Support the GHHM Programme Manager with the development of GHHM’s annual plan, contribute to annual planning workshops and be the focal point for annual planning relating to GHHM’s South Asia site.
- Prepare a budget for GHHM’s South Asia operations in collaboration with the GHHM Project Manager. Ensure that the budget is prepared in advance of MSF UK budgeting deadlines ready for submission to the GHHM Programme Manager for approval.
- Support the GHHM Project Manager with quarterly reforecasting, providing updates on any expected changes to expenditure ahead of reforecasting deadlines
- Ensure timely and compliant reimbursement to the collaborating?institutes?for?their support?to?the GHHM course.
- Support the GHHM Project Manager with adherence to the guidelines of the MSF-south Asia Finance department?for all matters concerning transactions related to the program.?This?includes?but is?not?limited?to?GST?and?FCRA?related?issues.
- With support from the GHHM Project Manager?prepare external statutory reporting for the Finance and?compliance?committee.
Requirements
Educational Qualifications & Functional / Technical Skills
- MBBS (Graduate Medical Doctor) – mandatory
- Completion of the Global Health and Humanitarian Medicine Course is mandatory
- Postgraduate Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene or the Diploma in Global Health is mandatory.
- MSF field experience as a manager is highly desirable
- Minimum of two years clinical experience post graduation.
- Masters degree in Tropical Medicine / Infectious Diseases / Public Health- highly desirable
- Experience in handling new online video-telephony and chat platforms.
- Experience in maintaining online learning platforms is highly desirable.
- Experience in developing medical content is highly desirable
- Proficient in Word processing, Operating Systems, Email, the internet, managing databases and spreadsheets
Relevant Experience
- 4-5 years’ of relevant work experience.
- Previous pedagogical experience is desirable.

- Contract duration is one year with a possibility of contract period extension.

- Compensation gross per month range USD 2581 to USD 3679 – ((Salary is offered in line with our pay framework and typically starts at the entry point of the band. Salary increases are considered annually; final salary will depend on the scaling of the CV as per MSF criteria).
- 13th Month bonus (equivalent to one month gross) will be additional.
