Position Summary
SwitchON Foundation is seeking an experienced and field-oriented Regional Lead to manage and strengthen Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO) projects and sustainable agriculture initiatives across the assigned region. The role involves leading implementation of NABARD and SFAC-supported projects, supporting institutional development of FPOs, and promoting climate-resilient agriculture practices among farming communities.
The Regional Lead will work closely with FPO leadership, government departments, ecosystem partners, and internal field teams to ensure timely and high-quality project implementation. This role requires strong stakeholder management skills, extensive field engagement, and the ability to independently lead regional operations in a fast-paced development environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Implementation & FPO Strengthening
- Lead implementation of NABARD and SFAC-supported FPO projects across the assigned region.
- Support formation, strengthening, statutory compliance, and operational maturity of FPOs.
- Guide Boards of Directors, CEOs, and FPO members on governance, business planning, and institutional development.
Climate-Resilient Agriculture & Livelihoods
- Promote and integrate Climate Resilient Agriculture (CRA) practices through FPOs.
- Support adoption of sustainable agriculture, productivity enhancement, and farmer-centric livelihood models.
Stakeholder & Partner Coordination
- Coordinate with NABARD, SFAC, line government departments, and other ecosystem partners.
- Represent SwitchON Foundation in regional meetings, review meetings, and official engagements.
Team Leadership & Monitoring
- Lead and mentor regional and district-level project teams.
- Review project progress, MIS data, and field-level outputs regularly.
- Ensure timely submission of reports, documentation, and compliance requirements.
Field Engagement & Problem Solving
- Conduct regular field visits (60–70% travel) to monitor activities and support on-ground issue resolution.
- Provide practical guidance to field teams and FPOs for operational and implementation challenges.
Qualifications
Mandatory
- Strong experience in FPOs, agriculture-based projects, or rural livelihoods implementation.
- Proven ability to manage teams and large field-based projects.
Education
- Postgraduate degree in Rural Development / Agriculture / Social Work / Management.
Language
- Proficiency in Bengali, Hindi, and English.
Other Requirements
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MIS tools, and online reporting systems.
- Comfortable using ChatGPT and other AI-based tools for reporting, analysis, and documentation support.
- Farmer-friendly attitude with calm, responsible, and team-oriented behaviour.
- Strong ownership mindset and ability to work independently in field-intensive environments.
Compensation
- Monthly in-hand remuneration of approximately Rs.45,000 – Rs.55,000, depending on experience and role fit.
Reporting To
DGM – Agri Business
Travel Requirements
Extensive field travel required (approximately 60–70% of working days per month).
