Job Title : Research Associate
Duration : 1.5 months
Job Summary
Sambodhi is seeking a Research Associate for positions in Ganjam District, Odisha and Nagaon District, Assam to support a mixed-methods
research study. The role involves conducting qualitative data collection, including Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and Key Informant Interviews
(KIIs) with farmers, Women's SHGs, government officials, programme partners, FPO representatives, and other community stakeholders across
the project blocks, while ensuring high-quality field implementation and adherence to research protocols.
Essential Functions
The candidate will perform the following key functions:
• Conduct qualitative interactions (FGDs and KIIs)
• Manage scheduling and logistics for allocated stakeholder interviews
• Facilitate or support focus group discussions following standardized tools
• Support translation of qualitative tools and transcripts and cultural adaptation where needed
• Monitor quality of data collection in real-time
• Transcribe or organize qualitative notes in a clear and systematic manner
• Support data quality assurance activities as per requirements of the team
• Any other task in congruence to above

Desired profile
Education
Postgraduate degree in Rural Management, Social Sciences, Social Work, Public Policy, Public Health, Economics, or related
discipline
Experience
0-3 years of progressively responsible experience in Social Research & Advisory or Monitoring & Evaluation domains
Personal Competencies
• Knowledge of Research, Evaluation, Data Analysis and related aspects
• Ability to operate effectively in teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Willingness to travel extensively
• High level of involvement, engagement and ownership
• Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation ability
• Excellent Verbal and Written Fluency in Odia or Assamese and English is a must
