Just Rights for Children (JRC) | Global Head of Communications

Senior Leadership | Global Narrative, Brand, Advocacy and Public Affairs

About Just Rights for Children
Just Rights for Children (JRC) is a network of over 300 organisations working to prevent violence against children, with a particular focus on rape, sexual abuse and exploitation. Operating across India, Nepal, Kenya, UK and the United States, JRC is building a scalable, ecosystem-level response through legal intervention, community engagement and the rule of law. Our goal is to eliminate impunity for all forms of child sexual abuse and exploitation by reaching a tipping point of legal action and deterrence. As JRC expands internationally, we are seeking a senior communications leader to build its global voice, reputation and influence.

About The Role
The Global Head of Communications will define and lead JRC’s global communications strategy, positioning the network as a leading global voice on justice, accountability and protection for children.

This is a senior leadership mandate focused on narrative, influence, reputation and institutional positioning. The role will work closely with JRC’s leadership to ensure that its legal interventions, grassroots impact and global advocacy priorities shape policy, public discourse and global action.

Strategic Mandate
  • Define and own JRC’s global narrative, positioning and brand architecture.
  • Build JRC’s international profile across governments, multilateral institutions, media, civil society and global policy platforms.
  • Translate complex legal, policy and programme work into clear, compelling narratives with global relevance.
  • Lead strategic communications around major campaigns, legal interventions, judgments, policy developments and international advocacy moments.
  • Build a proactive global media and thought leadership strategy.
  • Position JRC’s leadership and experts as influential voices in international debates on violence against children, justice and accountability.
  • Set the strategic direction for digital and social media as tools for advocacy, mobilisation and reputation.
  • Advise senior leadership on public affairs, stakeholder perception, reputation and communications risk.
  • Build and lead a high-performing communications function across priority geographies.
  • Establish strong global standards for messaging, brand, spokesperson engagement and communications governance.
What Success Looks Like
  • JRC is recognised internationally as a credible and influential voice on ending violence against children through the rule of law.
  • Policymakers, media, jurists and global institutions actively seek JRC’s perspective and evidence.
  • JRC has a clear, distinctive and consistent global identity across markets and platforms.
  • Its communications function anticipates and shapes conversations rather than simply responding to them.
  • Communications strengthens JRC’s ability to influence policy, mobilise action and advance accountability for crimes against children.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will bring:
  • Senior-level experience in global communications, advocacy, public affairs or institutional brand strategy.
  • Strong international media, policy and stakeholder experience.
  • Sophisticated judgment in politically and reputationally sensitive environments.
  • A track record of shaping organisational narratives and building institutional influence.
  • Experience working across governments, multilaterals, civil society and other high-level stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and communications functions across countries and cultures.
  • Exceptional ability to translate complex issues into clear, authoritative and compelling communications.
  • Strong alignment with JRC’s mission and its belief in the rule of law as a means to prevent violence, end impunity and protect children.
Reporting and Scope
The Global Head of Communications will report to JRC’s senior leadership and carry a global mandate across existing and emerging markets. The role will combine strategic counsel, global positioning and team leadership, with responsibility for building the communications capability required for JRC’s next phase of international growth.

Educational Qualification : Graduate/Master's Degree in Communications/ Journalism/ Mass Communication/Public Relations /Marketing, International Relations/Development Studies/Public Policy or a related field.

Experience: 15+ years of experience

Salary: Salary will be offered commensurate with qualifications, experience and prevailing organisational norms.
